This position offers the opportunity to provide operational leadership through oversight and partnership with a highly engaged team of pharmacy technicians. Summary

Our straight evenings position offers the consistency of 7 evening shifts in a 7-on/7-off manner. Shifts are 10 hours in length and begin at 12:30 pm.

The Operations Pharmacist coordinates medication-management services to ensure medications are prepared, verified, and delivered safely and efficiently throughout the hospital. This pharmacist oversees central pharmacy operations and helps manage workload throughout the medication distribution process including sterile and nonsterile product preparation along with other inpatient pharmacy duties.

Job Description

Key responsibilities include overseeing medication preparation and distribution and ensuring appropriate prioritization of urgent and time-sensitive needs. The pharmacist provides real-time direction to pharmacy technicians and adjusts workflow in response to patient census, medication demand, staffing, and changing organizational priorities.

Additional responsibilities include supporting controlled-substance processes, compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and medication-safety standards. The Operations Pharmacist also coordinates with decentralized and clinical pharmacists to address medication needs and maintain continuity of pharmacy services across shifts and patient-care areas.

This position requires strong operational judgment, attention to detail, effective prioritization, and the ability to manage multiple competing demands in a fast-paced healthcare environment, including effectively directing and redirecting technicians to ensure appropriate workflow, coverage, and timely completion of patient care responsibilities.

Qualifications

In a medical center or institutional setting: Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy. Must have a thorough knowledge of drugs and their actions; knowledge of state and local regulations. Hospital experience or residency preferred.




License must be in good standing by the State Board of Pharmacy in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position.
