Occupational Therapist Responsibilities
As an Occupational Therapist, you will:
- Evaluate residents and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide skilled occupational therapy services to improve function, mobility, and independence
- Assess activities of daily living (ADLs) and implement therapeutic interventions
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, and families to optimize patient outcomes
- Educate residents and caregivers on treatment plans, adaptive equipment, and recovery strategies
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed
- Complete accurate and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and facility regulations
- Maintain compliance with all professional and ethical standards of practice
Qualifications
Required:
- Active California Occupational Therapist (OT) License
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
Preferred:
- Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), post-acute, rehabilitation, or long-term care experience
- Experience working with geriatric populations
