Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing sustained support and actively participating in quality improvement

processes and development of quality improvement plans

• Achieving Resident Satisfaction and Employee Engagement targets

• Managing the food service for residents with a focus on their individualized

nutritional plan of care

• Working with the multidisciplinary team along with residents and families to

customize personalized menus

• Ensuring food and fluid interventions (as per resident’s plan of care) are prepared

and served appropriately

• Ensuring menu items provided meet the assessed needs of the residents

• Collaborating closely with dietitians and dietary team members to ensure service

delivery is consistently compliant with organizational policies, procedures, and all

applicable legislation and regulatory requirements

• Ensuring the team is following required infection prevention and control and food

safety guidelines

• ONTARIO ONLY: Completing low and moderate routine resident nutrition

assessments as delegated by the Registered Dietitian (RD)

• Maintaining operation excellence within defined budget

• Managing vendor and community partnerships related to the delivery of culinary

services

• Hiring, training and engaging a team of dietary staff to deliver quality nutrition

and culinary services in a unionized environment

• Taking a hands-on approach to leading, mentoring, and helping the dietary team

as required

Qualifications:

• ONTARIO ONLY: Current membership with the Canadian Society of Nutrition

Management (CSNM) or Registered Dietitian

• Valid Food Safety Handler's Certificate

• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant dietary experience and one (1) year of

leadership experience

• Passion for food production, food service and long-term care

• Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector

Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
