Job Role: Mechanical CAD Drafter – Fire Protection

Compensation range: $1,000 USD - $1,500 USD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the client’s US business hours (approx. 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday, Pacific Time)

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian and US companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: An established fire protection and life safety company serving commercial, industrial, and other building projects. The business provides end-to-end fire protection services, including design, engineering, installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of various fire and life safety systems.

Role Overview: We are seeking a Mechanical CAD Drafter – Fire Protection with strong AutoCAD skills to support the preparation and development of technical drawings and documentation for fire protection systems. The successful candidate will work closely with the existing team on high-rise fire protection projects, producing accurate drawings, block plans, schematics, and construction documentation.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced AutoCAD professional looking to develop specialized experience in fire sprinkler and fire alarm drafting, with training and guidance provided on the client's specific standards and requirements.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Prepare detailed AutoCAD drawings for fire protection systems, including fire sprinkler and fire alarm layouts and associated components.
• Develop detailed block plans, schematic diagrams, and technical drawings for submission and construction purposes.
• Assist with the preparation and updating of drawings for high-rise fire protection projects.
• Work closely with engineers and the existing design team to ensure drawings accurately reflect design intent, project specifications, and applicable requirements.
• Review drawings and incorporate feedback from design and engineering teams to maintain accuracy and compliance.
• Make revisions and updates to existing fire protection drawings as project requirements evolve.
• Support coordination with other disciplines to ensure drawings are properly integrated and clash-free.
• Learn and apply the client's fire protection drafting standards, techniques, and best practices.
• Ensure drawings and other technical documentation are accurate, complete, and delivered within required project deadlines.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, with proven experience producing detailed technical drawings.
• Experience drafting fire sprinkler, fire alarm, fire protection, mechanical, electrical, or other building services drawings is highly desirable.
• Understanding of fire protection drawings, including sprinkler layouts, fire alarm layouts, hydrants, fire pumps, or related systems, is an advantage.
• Experience designing sprinkler or hydrant systems is not required.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate technical documentation.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply industry-specific fire protection standards and drafting requirements.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineers, architects, and project teams.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines while maintaining quality.
• Proactive, solution-oriented approach with a willingness to learn and develop within a specialized technical field.
• Must be based in the Philippines and able to work remotely.

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
