Job Summary:

• The Manufacturing Support Engineer supports high-volume camera manufacturing operations by maintaining production equipment, troubleshooting process and equipment issues, implementing process improvements, and supporting engineering initiatives. This role works closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Maintenance teams to ensure production lines operate safely, efficiently, and consistently while meeting quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
• The Manufacturing Support Engineer plays a key role in sustaining and recovering automated assembly, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The position requires strong technical aptitude, hands-on problem-solving skills, and a commitment to Lean Manufacturing principles within an organization certified to ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards and compliant with ITAR and EAR regulations. The role will includes testing new concepts, supporting existing production lines, executing experiments, maintenance and monitoring equipment performance and processes

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support daily operation of high-volume camera assembly, inspection, and test production lines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment, process, and production issues to minimize downtime and improve manufacturing performance.
• Assist in the installation, setup, qualification, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, automation systems, fixtures, and tooling.
• Perform equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, and process verification activities.
• Support manufacturing engineers with process development, validation, yield improvement, and continuous improvement projects.
• Collect, analyze, and document production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Assist with root cause investigations and implementation of corrective and preventive actions related to quality and production issues.
• Build, modify, repair, and maintain fixtures, tools, workstations, and production equipment.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, setup procedures, equipment logs, and process records.
• Train operators on equipment operation, process changes, and standardized work practices.
• Support new product introductions, process transfers, pilot builds, and production ramp activities.
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives focused on waste reduction, process optimization, and productivity improvements.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements, quality standards, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ITAR, EAR, and company policies.
• Support internal, customer, and certification audits as required.
• Able to stand and sit for extended periods of time, work in clean room and lift 25 lb without assistance

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

Education

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Mechatronics, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, engineering technician, or production support role.
• Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing environments preferred.
• Experience with camera, optical, electronics, semiconductors, automotive, medical device, or precision assembly manufacturing is preferred.

Technical Knowledge

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, production equipment, and automated assembly systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, assembly instructions, and technical documentation.
• Experience troubleshooting electro-mechanical equipment and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with machine vision, robotics, automated test equipment, and industrial controls is desirable.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and manufacturing data collection systems.
• Understanding quality systems, process control, and root cause analysis techniques.
