Installs, maintains, and repairs manufacturing equipment and fixtures. Conducts general maintenance activities primarily on machinery and related equipment. Maintains repair and maintenance records. Troubleshoots problems and escalates the most complex issues to senior coworkers. Typically has 3-5 years of experience and works under broad supervision.Join the growing RLS team as our Maintenance Technician in our climate-controlled plant located in Hazelwood, MO. In this role, you will maintain and troubleshoot custom-built industrial manufacturing equipment. Main duties consist of machine maintenance; mechanical, hydraulics, electrical, pneumatic, etc.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain a safe maintenance program for all production machines
- Troubleshoot machine issues and make repairs/modifications as needed; mechanical work, hydraulics, electrical and programming
- Collaborate with operations, production, engineering, fellow maintenance personnel and outside vendors to make repairs or improvements to equipment
- Create/maintain process machine programs (recipes)
- Create/maintain standard work documents for maintenance
- Assure that equipment is functioning as designed by performing routine maintenance, daily inspections, and conferring with all shifts
- Work closely with leadership and Supply Chain to maintain required spare parts
Requirements:
Education
- Degree in Industrial Maintenance or equivalent preferred
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of systems which include electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, servos, relays, communications networks, touchscreens, pushbuttons and robotics
- Familiar with Allen Bradley, B & R Automation, Structured Text systems
Skills and Knowledge
- Must be able to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
- Excellent time management skills
- Understanding of metal material properties is a plus (UTS, Yield, Elong %, etc.)
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Ability to work in variable temperature environment with occasional overtime hours required.
