Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance - Executive to join our Ambernath India Plant Mumbai team. The position will report to the Maintenance Manager.
This is a Onsite full-time position.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of production equipment such as:
- Blender
- Hammer Mill
- Sieving Equipment
- CIP Systems
- Material Handling Systems
- Packaging Equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and instrumentation faults.
- Ensure timely restoration of equipment during breakdown situations.
- Assist in installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment.
Utility Systems Maintenance
- Maintain plant utility systems including:
- HVAC Systems
- Air Handling Units (AHU)
- Compressed Air Systems
- Chillers
- Water Systems
- Dust Extraction Systems
- Electrical Distribution Panels
- Monitor utility performance and report abnormalities.
GMP Compliance
- Follow GMP, GDP, Data Integrity, and EHS requirements at all times.
- Ensure maintenance activities are completed as per approved SOPs and work instructions.
- Maintain equipment logbooks and maintenance records.
- Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
- Ensure equipment status labels and documentation are updated after maintenance work.
Calibration & Validation Support
- Assist in calibration of instruments and monitoring devices.
- Support equipment qualification and validation activities.
- Participate in commissioning and performance verification of new equipment.
Documentation & SAP
- Record maintenance activities in SAP CMMS or maintenance management systems.
- Raise maintenance work orders and close completed tasks.
- Maintain spare parts consumption records.
- Update preventive maintenance schedules and checklists.
Safety & Environment
- Follow all safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and confined space requirements.
- Use appropriate PPE during maintenance activities.
- Report unsafe conditions and participate in safety improvement initiatives.
- Maintain good housekeeping and 5S standards in maintenance areas.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), CAPA, and reliability improvement programs.
- Suggest energy-saving and maintenance cost-reduction initiatives.
Qualifications
- Diploma or BE in Electrical engineering discipline.
- Additional certification in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, or automation is preferred.
Experience
- 3 to 5 years of maintenance experience in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical, API, Formulation, Excipient, food, nutraceutical, or chemical manufacturing plant.
- Experience working with blending, milling, dispensing, and utility equipment is preferred.
- Familiarity with Plant Maintenance Module is desirable.

Authority
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Recommend equipment repairs and spare part requirements.
- Stop equipment operation if unsafe conditions are identified.
- Initiate maintenance work orders and escalation of critical breakdowns.
