Java Lead Software Engineer - Vice President - Software Engineering
Profile Description
We're seeking someone to join our FORT (Operations Technology) team as a Java Software Engineer. Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale, distributed Java applications supporting post-trade asset servicing operations. This Vice President role combines hands-on engineering, technical ownership, stakeholder partnership, and leadership across analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

This is Vice President position that develops and maintains software solutions that support business needs.
What you will do in the Role
• Own end-to-end delivery of large-scale, distributed Java applications from analysis and design through coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Design and develop scalable technology solutions for post-trade asset servicing, including corporate actions, income processing, tax services, custody support, and regulatory reporting.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership, applying object-oriented design principles and design patterns to produce robust, maintainable software.
• Partner directly with business users and technologists across the firm to understand requirements, integrate shared frameworks, and deliver effective solutions.
• Drive cloud-migration initiatives and improve application resilience, performance, controls, and operational efficiency.
• Lead delivery within a global Agile team, mentor engineers, communicate decisions clearly, and take accountability for quality and outcomes.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE:
• 8+ years of professional experience in Java application development, including ownership of large-scale distributed systems.
• Excellent working knowledge of Java, Spring, Angular, relational databases, messaging technologies, and RESTful services.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented analysis, design and programming, with practical experience applying design patterns.
• Proven experience across the full software-development lifecycle, including analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Experience with iterative and Agile development practices in a global delivery environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with confidence interacting directly with business users and technologists at all levels.
• Experience contributing to or leading cloud-migration initiatives.
• Familiarity with containerized applications and Kubernetes is desirable.
