Role Overview
We are looking for a confident, motivated and results-driven Lead Qualification Specialist to support the growth of an established UK business communications and technology provider.
The successful candidate will engage with prospective business customers, understand their needs, qualify opportunities and arrange high-quality appointments for the sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach and other approved prospecting activities.
- Engage with business owners, directors, IT managers and other decision-makers.
- Introduce the company’s telecommunications, IT and technology solutions.
- Conduct discovery conversations to understand customer needs, challenges and current arrangements.
- Qualify opportunities based on business needs, decision-makers, contract status, requirements and level of interest.
- Identify opportunities across VoIP, Microsoft Teams Phone, broadband, leased lines, mobile, managed IT, Microsoft 365 and cybersecurity.
- Book qualified appointments and demonstrations for the sales team.
- Maintain accurate lead information, activity and notes within the CRM.
- Follow up with prospects who are interested but not yet ready to proceed.
- Meet agreed daily, weekly and monthly activity and appointment targets.
- Provide feedback on objections, customer requirements and competitor activity.
- Work closely with the sales team to improve lead quality and conversion rates.
Requirements
- Previous experience in lead generation, appointment setting, telesales, business development or a similar sales role.
- B2B sales experience is strongly preferred.
- Confident and professional telephone manner.
- Strong questioning, listening and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to identify genuine sales opportunities and understand customer needs.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Comfortable engaging with senior business decision-makers.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Experience using CRM systems and managing follow-ups.
- Comfortable working towards activity, appointment and performance targets.
- Resilient, self-motivated and confident in handling objections.
- Willingness and ability to learn technical products and explain them clearly to customers.
Desirable
- Experience in telecommunications, managed IT, connectivity, cybersecurity or technology sales.
- Knowledge of VoIP, Microsoft Teams Phone, business broadband, leased lines or Microsoft 365.
- Experience working with UK-based customers or sales teams.
- Experience using LinkedIn and sales-prospecting platforms.
