The Role (What’s in the Box)

The Sourcing Manager – Nordics is responsible for providing the strategic and operational bridge between Product and Procurement teams, managing end-to-end communications between local and international stakeholders. The role sits within local/regional teams and owns the process from new ingredient requests through supplier onboarding and scaling.

Working in close collaboration with Category Managers and local business leaders, you will support the local Product team in driving the local product agenda in full alignment with global/regional category strategies. You will navigate complex operational limitations and requirements unique to the Nordics market (Denmark, Sweden, and Norway), ensuring that new ingredient introductions (NID SKUs) enhance customer experience while maintaining operational efficiency.

The role reports to the International Team Lead Sourcing, with a dotted line into the local Head of Culinary, maintaining regular interaction with international stakeholders and peer Sourcing Managers across HelloFresh markets.

What You’ll Do (The Recipe)

• Product Agenda & Strategy Alignment: Partner closely with the local Product team to drive and execute the local product agenda while keeping initiatives aligned with overall category strategy and operational guidelines.

• Nordics Operational Navigation: Manage complex operational constraints, supply chain limitations, and local quality/regulatory requirements specific to the Denmark, Sweden, and Norway markets.

• Project Management & Gatekeeping: Lead project management for new ingredient requests (NID) between Culinary, Product, Supply Chain, and Procurement teams. Act as the primary gatekeeper to ensure strict adherence to standardized onboarding processes.

• Stakeholder Management: Drive optimal stakeholder management across local, regional, and international leadership, ensuring transparent communications and aligned priorities.

• Cross-Market Synergy & Efficiency: Review new ingredient proposals to identify existing cross-market sourcing opportunities, supporting Category Managers in SKU consolidation, rationalization, and cost-saving initiatives across catalogs.

• Supplier & Onboarding Leadership: Manage requisition proposals and local supplier interactions in the Nordics, coordinating tender processes with Category Managers when multi-market sourcing is involved.

• Specification & Quality Improvement: Collaborate with Culinary, FSQA (Food Safety & Quality Assurance), and Supply Chain teams to tweak ingredient specifications or formulations to optimize cost, quality, and performance.

What You’ll Bring (Your Ingredients)

• Minimum 5–6 years of proven experience in procurement, sourcing, category management, or a similar role specifically within the food industry.

• Good understanding of the Nordics food market and supply chain dynamics across Denmark, Sweden, and Norway, including vendor landscapes, quality standards, and operational nuances.

• Fluency in English AND at least one Nordic language — Danish, Swedish, or Norwegian.

• Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.

• Proven ability to manage complex operational trade-offs and deliver consistent results under tight timelines.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process-improvement mindset.

• Strong stakeholder-management and influencing skills, with a track record of bridging local product needs with regional procurement strategies.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and change-management skills in a multicultural, international environment.

• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
