The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Manager, HR Advisory Services, the HR Advisor provides practical employee relations guidance to Dentalcorp leaders, managing workplace matters from intake through resolution while supporting fair, consistent outcomes and clear documentation.

You assess information objectively, navigate sensitive conversations with professionalism, recognize risk and escalation needs, and take ownership of cases through clear guidance, documentation, and follow-through.

In This Role, You Will

  • Manage assigned employee relations cases from intake through closure, providing timely guidance, clear documentation, and consistent follow-through.
  • Coach leaders on performance, attendance, workplace conduct, conflict, discipline, policy application, documentation, and employment transitions.
  • Conduct fact-finding and workplace investigations within assigned scope, preparing objective summaries and recommendations for review.
  • Support accommodations, leaves, disability management, Workers’ Compensation, and return-to-work matters in partnership with leaders, employees, and key stakeholders.
  • Identify employment, legal, human rights, compliance, privacy, safety, or reputational risks and escalate complex or sensitive matters appropriately.
  • Partner with People Business Partners, Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Health and Safety, People Services, Operations, and external providers as required.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and audit-ready case records, while identifying trends, documentation gaps, and opportunities to improve advisory tools and processes.

What You’ll Bring

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience is required.
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations, performance management, attendance, conduct, accommodations, leaves, disability management, Workers’ Compensation, return-to-work planning, or HR advisory work is required.
  • Experience conducting fact-finding or supporting workplace investigations, with strong knowledge of objectivity, confidentiality, procedural fairness, documentation, and scope is required.
  • Working knowledge of employment standards, human rights, accommodation requirements, Workers’ Compensation, and employment-related legislation across one or more Canadian jurisdictions is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach leaders, manage multiple cases and timelines, recognize risk, and escalate matters appropriately.
  • Strong written communication, listening, interviewing, critical thinking, problem-solving, organization, attention to detail, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to remain objective, composed, respectful, and empathetic when handling sensitive workplace matters.
  • Experience in a multi-site organization, Workday or case management systems, an HR designation, or workplace investigation training are considered assets.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 CAD to $85,000 CAD annually (plus a bonus of up to 10% and competitive total rewards and benefits package). Offers within this range are determined based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications, as well as internal equity considerations. This is a new opportunity.

You will be based at our Toronto Support Centre, located at 181 Bay Street in the heart of Toronto’s financial district.  This position will be on site from Monday to Thursday, with Fridays designated as work-from-home days.
