Essential Responsibilities

• Safely operate Excavator, Packer, Loader, Rock Truck, and other heavy equipment as assigned
• Perform earthworks activities including excavation, loading, hauling, backfilling, and material placement
• Excavate and load various materials including rock, soil, and aggregate
• Operate rock trucks to safely transport materials throughout the project site
• Operate loaders to load trucks, move and stockpile materials, maintain work areas, and support ongoing site activities
• Perform excavations around structures, utilities, foundations, and other site features as required
• Work safely around ground personnel, other equipment, vehicles, and active construction operations
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and pre-operational checks and report deficiencies or maintenance concerns
• Follow established routes, traffic plans, spotter directions, and site procedures
• Understand and follow stakes, markings, drawings, and instructions as required for assigned work
• Maintain equipment in a clean and safe operating condition
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, spotters, ground crews, and other equipment operators
• Maintain Ledcor’s high standards for safety, quality, and productivity
• Complete assigned work safely and efficiently while meeting project requirements and timelines

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating excavators, rock trucks, loaders, or other heavy construction equipment
• Minimum 3 years of relevant heavy equipment operating experience preferred
• Previous experience working on mining, heavy civil, earthworks, or large-scale industrial construction projects is an asset
• Ability to operator equipment without GPS or machine control systems
• Experience working outdoors in varying weather conditions, congested work areas, near underground utilities and overhead power lines
• Ability to safely operate equipment in varying ground, terrain, and weather conditions
• Strong understanding of equipment inspections and safe operating procedures
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, spotters, and ground personnel
• Must be able to provide valid government-issued photo identification
• Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
• Valid CSTS-09, CSTS-2020, or CSO certification
• Must successfully complete all required project-specific online orientations

Work Conditions

• Work schedule: 14 days on, 7 days off
• Day shift and night shift opportunities available
• Extended health benefits provided through CLAC
• Weekly payment of wages
• Travel allowance and Living Out Allowance (LOA) provided for those eligible

Compensation

$35.17 - $54.11 per hour

This is the applicable wage range for this position. Individuals will be assigned a base wage within this range based on trade certification and/or apprenticeship level, industry experience, and work location.

Remote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including but not limited to travel and accommodation allowances.
