Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Nursing Program at Iowa State University seeks a Content Expert in Healthcare Informatics to develop a graduate-level course for the Master of Nursing programto develop coursework for NRS 5600, Working collaboratively with the Director of Nursing Education, nursing faculty, and instructional design specialists, the content expert will design and develop course materials that align with program outcomes and graduate nursing competencies.

Responsibilities include developing course modules, learning activities, readings, multimedia resources, assessments, and discussion prompts. The content expert will ensure that course content reflects current evidence, emerging trends, and best practices in healthcare informatics while supporting student-centered learning and incorporating Open Educational Resources (OER) whenever appropriate.

The content expert will participate in course review and revision based on feedback and evaluation data, maintain regular communication with the course development team, and meet established project deadlines.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

· Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Iowa

· Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree

· Demonstrated expertise in healthcare informatics, nursing informatics, health information technology, digital health, or a closely related discipline.

· Evidence of academic, clinical, administrative, research, or professional experience relevant to healthcare informatics.

· Ability to work collaboratively and meet established project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Certification in Nursing Informatics (NI-BC) or other relevant informatics credential.

· Doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, DNP, EdD) in a relevant field.

· Experience in curriculum development and/or instructional design, including online courses.

· Strong written communication skills and the ability to present complex ideas clearly.

· Familiarity with OER and digital pedagogy.

· Completion of Quality Matters or similar instructional design training.

· Proficiency in the use of educational technologies and learning management systems.

· Record of scholarship, practice, leadership, or innovation in healthcare informatics.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
