About the Role

Nacre Capital is an international venture builder that establishes cutting-edge technology companies building solutions to some of the world's hardest problems, across Health Care, Agriculture, Aquaculture, Security, and beyond. As our Grants Specialist, you will help these companies secure the capital that turns breakthrough science into real-world impact.

You will own the full grant lifecycle across our portfolio, from identifying the right opportunity to winning the award and managing it through closeout. You will work directly with founders, scientists, and engineers, translating complex technology into compelling, fundable proposals. Your work will directly extend our companies' runway and accelerate their path to market.

What You'll Do

• Hunt for funding: Proactively identify and prioritize government, bi-national, multilateral, corporate, and foundation funding opportunities (such as national innovation authorities, BIRD, Horizon Europe/EIC, NIH/SBIR, and USDA/agri-tech programs) matched to each portfolio company's technology and stage.
• Build the funding strategy: Develop a pipeline and calendar of opportunities across the portfolio, advising management on which grants are worth pursuing and how to combine them with equity financing.
• Write winning proposals: Draft, edit, and submit full proposals, letters of inquiry, budgets, and supporting documents, turning deep-tech innovation into clear, persuasive narratives for expert reviewers.
• Partner with innovators: Work closely with CEOs, CTOs, R&D leads, and finance teams to gather technical and commercial inputs, shape realistic budgets and work plans, and build consortia and partnerships where needed.
• Manage awards post-win: Monitor milestones, expenditures, and deliverables; prepare progress and financial reports; and handle audits and closeout, so funding stays compliant and secure.
• Keep it organized: Maintain a central tracking system for deadlines, reporting schedules, and historical submissions, and build a reusable library of proposal content across the portfolio.

Requirements

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in grant writing, funding research, and post-award administration, ideally for technology, R&D, or innovation-driven organizations.
• Exceptional writing, with a proven ability to distill complex science and technology into clear, compelling proposals.
• Strong financial skills: building R&D project budgets, analyzing financial reports, and ensuring cost eligibility.
• Working knowledge of compliance frameworks such as EU funding rules, 2 CFR 200 (US federal), or national innovation agency guidelines.
• Proficiency with grant tracking tools or CRM systems and advanced Excel.
• Excellent English.
• A self-starter who is comfortable managing multiple deadlines and stakeholders across diverse industries.
