The Opportunity:

We’re looking to fill an opening for a Financial Crime Analyst to join our Compliance team.

Reporting to the Manager AML Compliance, the Financial Crime Analyst is responsible for reviewing incidents of suspected fraud and AML risks against Aviso and its clients and ensure compliance to regulatory requirements and internal policy controls. The Financial Crime Analyst will conduct in-depth investigations and effectively take appropriate actions.

What your day looks like:

• Day to day analysis and assessment of fraud and AML alerts including detailed review of client records and account activity
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., other Financial Institutions) as required
• Document actions and information reviewed throughout an investigation to develop and maintain case files, including drafting complete and concise investigation reports and regulatory filings
• Remediate activity deemed fraudulent/suspicious as per regulatory and internal policies
• Identify through fraud case analysis opportunities and business process review to enhance internal policies, procedures, and controls
• High risk client monitoring
• Provide fraud and AML guidance and clarification on requirements to stakeholders
• From time to time, support compliance initiatives

Requirements

Your experience and skills:

• 5 years experience in a securities dealer environment. Experience in a fraud, AML or compliance role is an asset.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and investigation skills
• Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
• Proven ability to build and develop mutually beneficial relationships at all levels
• Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation, Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS) designation, Certified Financial Crimes Investigator (CFCI) designation, Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) Certification or Canadian Securities Course (CSC) is an asset
• Strong communication skills in English are required, both verbal and written. Bilingual skills in French are an asset

Salary

This position is posted with an expected salary range of $85,000 - $100,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
