The Doorways Coordinator plays a deeply meaningful role in supporting individuals and families across Karratha. You will guide a small team of employees and volunteers who care deeply about making a difference and you will help create a safe, calm and supportive environment for people seeking help. About the role 

As the Doorways Coordinator, you will oversee the delivery of Doorways services across the Karratha site. You will lead and support a dedicated team of employees and volunteers, ensuring services are delivered with warmth, professionalism and in line with the Doorways Model of Care.

You will build strong relationships with Corps Officers, TSA services and local community partners to understand local needs and strengthen collaboration. You will ensure business processes, reporting, WHS requirements and administrative systems are completed accurately and on time. You may also deliver some case work to support community members to identify goals and access appropriate pathways. 

This permanent full-time position within the Community Engagement team, reporting to the Regional Manager. Pay is in accordance with a SCHADS Level 5 plus a 9% regional allowance uplift. 

How you will make an impact 

  • Coordinate the delivery of emergency relief and material aid services that provide immediate and practical support to people in need. 

  • Lead and support a team of employees and volunteers to deliver safe, compassionate and person-centred services. 

  • Ensure the site is welcoming, calm and adequately always staffed. 

  • Build strong relationships with local Corps, TSA services and community stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and identify opportunities for community support. 

  • Coach and guide case workers on complex cases and support best practice service delivery. 

  • Maintain accurate client records and data in accordance with TSA standards using SAMIS. 

  • Contribute to resolving client concerns and reduce high conflict situations through effective de-escalation and communication skills. 

  • Support continuous improvement and best practice in partnership with the Regional Manager. 

What you will bring 

  • Minimum Diploma or preferred Degree in Social Work, Psychology or a Community or Human Services discipline, along with extensive community sector experience and high-level knowledge and skills. 

  • Experience in managing teams within community services and a genuine passion for supporting people. 

  • Strong skills in conflict resolution and supporting individuals experiencing trauma or complex needs. 

  • Excellent communication, relationship building and collaboration skills. 

  • Confidence in managing administrative processes and ensuring compliance with practice standards. 

  • A calm, steady and compassionate approach that helps people feel safe and supported. 

  • WA Working with Children check or willingness to obtain 

  • WA Driving Licence
