A Day in the Life
Our Mexico team, part of the broader Prologis global accounting organization, is responsible for the full accounting and reporting cycle across Mexico operations, ensuring compliance with Mexican GAAP (NIF), IFRS, and US GAAP.
As the Accounting Director, you will report directly to the VP Accounting LATAM and lead a large, high-performing team. You will be the primary owner of all accounting operations in Mexico, responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of financial records across all entities.
This role requires deep technical accounting expertise across multiple frameworks, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to operate in a complex, fast-paced, multinational environment. You will play a critical role in driving disciplined execution of the close process, strengthening internal controls, and partnering cross-functionally to deliver accurate and timely financial results that support Prologis’ growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations & Oversight
- Serve as the primary owner of all accounting operations in Mexico, including Property Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Consolidation, Corporate Accounting, and Internal Reporting.
- Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of financial records across all entities.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring deadlines are consistently met in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with Prologis policies and local requirements.
- Drive accountability across teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial results.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Mexican GAAP (NIF), IFRS, and US GAAP across all accounting activities.
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements and internal management reports.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead audit readiness and proactively manage the resolution of audit issues.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and develop a large, high-performing team, setting clear priorities and driving accountability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Establish performance expectations and foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Develop future leaders and build organizational capability aligned with regional and global priorities.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Act as a key liaison between Mexico accounting, global accounting, and cross-functional partners.
- Partner with Finance, Tax, Treasury, Asset Management, and Operations to resolve issues, remove roadblocks, and ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial results.
- Communicate complex accounting topics clearly to stakeholders.
Technical Accounting & Process Improvement
- Provide technical accounting guidance across NIF, IFRS, and US GAAP.
- Lead implementation of new accounting standards.
- Drive process improvements, standardization, and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and scalability.

Building Blocks for Success
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s degree preferred.
- CPA / CPC required.
- 10–12+ years of progressive experience, with significant experience leading accounting operations.
- Experience operating in a matrixed or global organization with regulatory complexity.
- Proven leadership experience managing large teams in a global or matrixed organization.
- Strong expertise in NIF, IFRS, and US GAAP.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
- Demonstrated ability to simplify complex concepts, drive decisions, and influence across functions.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Highly organized and execution-focused, with the ability to manage multiple complex priorities, balance competing deadlines, and consistently deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical matters clearly to executive and non-technical audiences.
