What You’ll Be Working On
- Ensure that the Company conducts its business in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and rules
- Support corporate governance matters, including board and committee meeting preparation, corporate resolutions, subsidiary management, and maintenance of legal entity records and filings across all jurisdictions
- Manage and oversee legal entity matters, including entity formations, dissolutions, registrations, organizational documents, and ongoing corporate maintenance
- Lead the adoption, implementation, maintenance and optimization of legal technology tools, including AI-powered legal solutions and contract management platforms, to drive efficiency and scalability within the legal function
- Participate in the design and development of corporate policies, procedures, best practices and programs required for a growing organization
- Provide counsel and guidance on legal matters, and on legal implications of all matters
- Keep abreast of ongoing governance and regulatory changes and report directly to the Head of Legal
- Provide legal advice, opinions and solutions regarding complex issues and risks relating to the on-going and expanding business by working closely with internal teams
- Draft, negotiate and review a broad range of commercial agreements, such as master services agreements, logistics and supply chain agreements, retail distribution agreements, and vendor agreements
- Support international growth and expansion efforts by advising on cross-border corporate structuring, local regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks to enable seamless operations across new and existing jurisdictions
- Deliver creative, timely, proactive and business-friendly advice and training in a fast-paced, competitive and evolving environment
- Work closely with all business units to address ongoing legal needs
Must Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree plus a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Member in good standing of a state bar, preferably New York
- Successful legal experience in top law firms or top CPG companies
- 5-7+ years of directly related work experience
- Proven ability to implement policies and projects across an international organization
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced and results-driven environment
- Commercial mindset, with an agile and relationship focused approach
- Ability to creatively analyze and address novel issues and think outside the box
- Comfortable working a hybrid schedule (Remote + at least 3 days per week in our NY Office)
