Strategic Sourcing  – Indirect & CapEx (India)

Position Summary

The Strategic Sourcing – Indirect & CapEx will lead end-to-end strategic sourcing for non-trade categories, including Indirect Goods & Services, CapEx, and professional services. This role is responsible for developing category strategies, driving measurable value creation, and enabling scalable, compliant procurement execution across India while aligning with global sourcing priorities.

This position goes beyond transactional buying to shape demand, optimize total cost of ownership (TCO), and leverage global supplier strategies, serving as a key contributor to the company’s global sourcing and procurement transformation.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Category Management

• Develop and execute category strategies for indirect spend (IT, Facilities, Professional Services, Marketing, Operations, CapEx), aligned with global sourcing priorities
• Build annual and multi-year sourcing roadmaps tied to savings, cost avoidance, working capital, and risk mitigation
• Identify, size, and prioritize sourcing opportunities using spend analytics and demand analysis
• Drive early engagement with stakeholders to influence requirements before specifications are finalized

Value Creation & Cost Optimization

• Deliver hard savings, soft savings, and cost avoidance through structured sourcing initiatives
• Apply Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) methodologies, including lifecycle costing, buy vs. lease analysis, and demand reduction
• Partner with Finance to ensure savings governance, validation, and tracking.
• Apply Low Cost Country (LCC) Sourcing, Zero Based Costing (ZBC).
• Leverage online / B2B platforms or marketplaces such as Ariba or Moglix.

Supplier & Contract Lifecycle Management

• Lead supplier sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, and contracting for indirect categories
• Establish and manage Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) for strategic and preferred suppliers
• Drive supplier performance through KPIs, scorecards, and QBRs
• Ensure strong contract governance, compliance, and risk management across the contract lifecycle

CapEx & Complex Sourcing

• Lead sourcing support for CapEx initiatives, including supplier due diligence, commercial structuring, and cost optimization
• Partner with Operations and Finance on capital investment decisions, ensuring optimal commercial and contractual outcomes

Global & Cross-Regional Collaboration

• Act as the India sourcing lead within a center-led global sourcing model
• Leverage global MSAs and preferred supplier agreements locally
• Aggregate regional demand to support global negotiations and scale benefits
• Support expansion of sourcing standards and best practices across other priority countries

Process, Policy & Digital Enablement

• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and sourcing thresholds
• Leverage SAP and digital procurement tools to enable end-to-end sourcing and purchasing (PR → PO → GR → Invoice)
• Support standardization of SKUs, catalogs, and sourcing workflows
• Contribute to continuous improvement through automation, analytics, and process simplification

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree required (Engineering preferred)
• MBA or professional certification (CIPS, CPSM, ISM) preferred

Experience

• 8–10 years of experience in strategic sourcing and procurement, with strong exposure to indirect categories
• Proven track record delivering measurable savings and value creation
• Experience supporting complex sourcing initiatives, including CapEx and professional services
• Prior experience in a regional or global sourcing model preferred

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in SAP procurement modules
• Advanced Excel and analytical skills; experience with spend analytics tools preferred
