As Community Engagement Program Manager, you’ll shape programs and experiences that build authentic relationships, strengthen our Brand reputation, and empower communities to thrive. You’ll bring Teams and Leaders together around shared goals, uncover meaningful opportunities across the Company, and guide community-focused projects from strategy through execution. Through thoughtful collaboration and powerful storytelling, you’ll help position Southwest as a trusted community partner and create an impact that extends far beyond the airport. Due to the nature of this role, you would be required to work from our Dallas, TX Headquarters facility during business hours.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal Stakeholders to identify shared goals and ensure appropriate programs are in place to protect our brand reputation and Customer base
• Drive innovation to ensure Community Engagement programs are relevant and meet evolving trends/best practices as well as contribute to our engagement strategy and goals
• Identify strategic opportunities to engage community outreach service offerings within other Southwest departments
• Identify opportunities to achieve department and Company goals as directed by executive Leadership as well as provide solutions through analysis, strategic thinking, resource planning, and coordination with Leaders
• Manage Southwest Airlines program activities and associated events
• Research and identify innovative programmatic opportunities that deepen engagement and bolster business and reputation
• Serve as a convener/facilitator for cross-departmental conversations/projects
• Serve as an intermediary and subject matter expert to address issues, ranging from routine to contentious
• Serve up impactful and inspirational stories to communicate internally and externally
• May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media
• Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing Customer services including Customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of Customer satisfaction
• Skilled in understanding the implications of latest information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
• Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
• Ability to listen to, understand, and communicate ideas presented in writing and/or in speaking with others
• Ability to propose creative ideas about a topic or program Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among unrelated events)

Education

• Required: High School Diploma or GED

Experience

• Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
  • Corporate Social Responsibility and/or Philanthropy
  • Community Outreach

Licensing/Certification

• N/A

Physical Abilities

• Ability to perform work duties from limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time
• Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
• Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Other Qualifications

• Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
• Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
• Must be able to travel and work nights and weekends as expected for this position

Pay & Benefits  

• Competitive market salary from $98,650 per year to $109,600 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
