Sobre esta vaga de Chief Technology Officer na Bjak
About the Role
The CTO will own technology for doit Holdings, our regulated investment platform in Malaysia. This is a build role. The platform does not exist yet, and it has to be built inside a technology risk framework that satisfies the Securities Commission's Guidelines on Technology Risk Management from the first line of code. The role runs from architecture and engineering execution through to the systems evidence the SC assesses at registration.
What you will be doing
Own architecture and major technical decisions for the platform, from onboarding and order routing through records, reporting and the partner interfaces.
Build and lead the engineering team, and set standards across reliability, security, performance, testing and code quality.
Implement the SC's technology risk requirements as engineering practice: change control and approvals, secure development, testing and acceptance, capacity and resilience.
Produce the systems evidence behind the readiness declaration a director and the Responsible Person must sign before the platform may operate.
Take the platform through the independent technology validation that gates registration, and close what it finds.
Own business continuity and disaster recovery, tested rather than documented.
Own cloud, vendor and outsourcing arrangements, where the board remains accountable for everything outsourced.
What you will need
Deep software engineering background with experience building and scaling production systems.
Strong knowledge of backend systems, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.
Experience making architecture decisions across multiple products or engineering teams.
Strong technical judgement and ability to challenge engineering decisions at implementation level.
Capable of building world-class engineering teams.
Still technically hands-on - able to review code, architecture, incidents and difficult engineering problems directly.
Location
This is a hybrid role. You are expected to work from our local office at least 3 days per week, with the remaining days offering flexibility to work remotely.
Candidates should be based in, or able to work from, the location where the role is advertised.
Language
English is our main working language across global teams. Strong English communication is required.
Interview Process
Our process is designed to move fast:
1. Online assessment or practical task
2. Technical interview
3. CEO / final round
For strong candidates, we aim to complete the process and make an offer within 1 week from the start of the interview process. Candidates who complete assessments quickly will be prioritized.
