Total Base Pay Range - $48,391.00 - $75,610.00 CAD Annual
Monday - Friday: 8:00AM to 5:00PM
SPOT QUOTE PREPARATIONS, INITIAL SUBMISSION
• Effectively relies on industry expertise and market knowledge, and prepares spot quotes in the most time-efficient manner that has the greatest chance of scoring success
• Using the pricing tools (of which the Pricing Specialist will have in-depth knowledge), prepares quotes and presents in a way that is professional and in line with the company’s strategy
• Promptly follows-up and performs the necessary data entry to help improve the accuracy of reporting and the status of the quotes presented
• Always keeps alert to the time-sensitive nature of preparing and submitting quotes
CUSTOMER RATE TARIFF UPDATE (AIR / OCEAN QUOTES)
• Works closely with the Product team to ensure changes in the carrier cost are considered in our customers Tariffs
• Ensures that the Tariffs are updated in a timely and accurately manner, in an excel format
• Executes all assigned quote requests within the established timeframes and uses approved quoting tools defined by the Pricing Manager in the policy
• Coordinates pricing efforts with the Product Managers requiring specialized attention and creates back-up for each quote on SharePoint to make client bookings
COORDINATION
• Coordinates correspondences with the Sales team, Operations, OPCO’s carriers, approved agents and our customers to ensure rate requests are completed on time to avoid any unnecessary delays
• Conducts follow-up on the requests sent and escalates for non-responsive carriers/FTN offices/Agents. Ensures all requests are managed within predefined time-frames.
• Communicates effectively to Sales and Operations with the reasoning for the decisions made, to avoid misunderstandings and keep relationships strong
• Proactively reaches out to Product Management for information and analyzes data from source systems from time to time, as required
• Is fully aware that communication and coordination is the key to making successful decisions in a competitive pricing environment
ADMINISTRATION
• Records each completed rate request onto the Pricing SharePoint site as per the documented process
• Maintains current pricing rates and validates in the pricing database system, and ensures that accurate information is used and established processes are followed
• Performs any other duties as advised by the Manager
MEETING AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
• Shows initiative and brings forward ideas that will continually help the department to improve on services provided to internal and external customers
• Is cognizant of the pressing and consequential nature of “spot quotes” if not handled promptly and on time
• Actively participates in contributing towards an improved pricing strategy in Canada
• Minimum 2 years of College required. CIFFA/CITT required or equivalent business related course preferably with a focus in International Supply Chain/Logistics or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Internal Pricing in a reputed Transportation and Brokerage firm and prior experience with Spot Quote preparations is required
• In depth knowledge of trade terms (Incoterms 2010) is required
• Proficiency in Excel for accurate data-entry is crucial
• Proficiency in Microsoft Access is an asset.
• Solid knowledge of Import and Export process and strong numerical ability
• Strong problem solving, communication, inter-personal, initiative and time management skills are a must
• Should demonstrate active team-player skills
• Strong organization and customer service skills are required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
