JOB TITLE:  Business Support Manager.

SALARY: £61,344pa to £74,900pa plus the benefits listed below.

LOCATIONS: Edinburgh.

HOURS: Full-time.

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites. Colleagues with disabilities can be supported with workplace adjustments including hybrid working expectations in line with our Flexibility Works policy.

Within our Wealth & Insurance (W&I) division, the Pensions and Retirement team plays a vital role in supporting customers through their long-term savings journey and into retirement. As Business Support Manager, you’ll be at the heart of this mission, reporting to the Executive Assistant within Pensions and Retirement and working closely with the Workplace Director to drive strategic priorities within the business area.

You’ll join a collaborative and forward-thinking team where your ability to influence, organise and communicate will be key. Partnering with the Executive Assistant and Workplace Director, you’ll help shape and deliver high-impact initiatives, manage key relationships and ensure our leaders are fully supported and prepared. Key Accountabilities

• Supporting the Workplace Pensions Director in the day-to-day management of their responsibilities.
• Supporting the coordination of the Pensions and Retirement Executive Office activities, including team meetings, colleague calls and communications, in partnership with the Executive Assistant and Personal Assistant.
• Managing and prioritising incoming communications for the Workplace Pensions Director, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.
• Preparing committee papers and briefing materials and ensuring both Directors are fully equipped for committees, boards and regulatory sessions.
• Collaborating with leadership to develop and implement strategic plans that align with business, customer and regulatory priorities.
• Building strong relationships with Business Partners across Finance, Risk, Audit and People to support governance, compliance and performance targets.

What You’ll Need

• Proven experience operating in an Executive Office, Business Management or Chief of Staff-style environment with the ability to drive business outcomes through influence.
• Confidence producing high-quality Board, Executive Committee and governance papers, working with multiple senior stakeholders.
• Strong operational and planning skills including experience managing complex leadership agendas, governance cycles, and deliverables across multiple projects.
• You’ll act as a trusted partner to the Workplace Pensions Director, connecting the dots across the team and translating business issues into clear, actionable plans and communications.
• Knowledge of Wealth and Insurance, Financial Services or another regulated industry is desirable.
