Job Profile Summary

Bank Mendes Gans (BMG), part of ING Group, provides specialized global liquidity management and treasury optimization solutions to multinational corporates. BMG’s product suite includes Netting, Cash Pooling, In-House Banking, Payments, Receipts, Reporting, and associated SWIFT-based connectivity solutions.

As part of ING Wholesale Banking’s Transaction Services franchise, BMG plays a strategic role in supporting corporate clients with complex cross-border treasury and liquidity structures. The APAC region represents a key growth market, with increasing demand for sophisticated cash management and treasury centralization solutions.

The BMG Account Manager acts as the primary relationship and service contact for BMG clients in Hong Kong and across Greater China. The role is responsible for managing client relationships, supporting onboarding and implementation of new entities into cash pool structures, coordinating with BMG operations and product teams, and ensuring clients receive high-quality support for liquidity and cash management solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary BMG contact for a portfolio of multinational corporate clients.
• Maintain strong relationships with regional treasury teams, finance teams, and decision makers.
• Coordinate communications between clients and BMG regarding cash pooling structures, liquidity solutions, interest methodologies, participating currencies, and eligible countries.
• Conduct regular client reviews and service discussions to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
• Support client retention through proactive engagement and high-quality service delivery.

Cash Pooling & Implementation Support

• Coordinate onboarding of new entities into existing or new cash pool structures.
• Support implementation activities in collaboration with Operations, KYC, Compliance, and Product teams.
• Manage documentation and client requirements throughout implementation processes.
• Facilitate smooth setup of accounts, connectivity, reporting, and digital banking access.
• Monitor implementation milestones and ensure timely delivery.

Stakeholder Coordination & Communication

• Act as liaison between clients and BMG teams located in Europe, Asia, and other regions.
• Work closely with Relationship Managers, Transaction Services and BMG Sales, Product Specialists, Operations, Compliance, Legal, and Risk teams.
• Coordinate responses to client requests and escalate issues where necessary.
• Communicate BMG product enhancements, system updates, regulatory developments, and market-relevant information to clients.

Risk, Compliance & Governance

• Support ongoing client reviews and governance processes.
• Review and assess screening hits, adverse news reports, and other client-related compliance alerts, escalating where appropriate.
• Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with applicable regulations, internal policies, and risk appetite requirements.
• Partner with Compliance and Risk teams to support due diligence and remediation activities.

Business Development & Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and expand BMG solutions.
• Support business growth initiatives and strategic projects.
• Contribute to process improvements, operational efficiency initiatives, and service enhancements.
• Gather client feedback and market insights to support product development.

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in transaction banking, cash management, liquidity management, treasury services, or corporate banking.
• Understanding of cash pooling, liquidity management, and treasury solutions.
• Knowledge of cash management and liquidity products.
• Understanding of treasury operations and corporate banking processes.
• Familiarity with KYC, AML, compliance, and risk management requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
• Strong presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal English and Mandarin communication skills.
• Client-centric mindset, with high attention to detail.
• Collaborative team player.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic and international environment.
