Job Overview

Pulse is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Band 7 Hospital & Prescribing Pharmacist to join the pharmacy team in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity for a clinical pharmacist to work within one of the UK's leading teaching hospitals, providing specialist pharmaceutical care and supporting safe prescribing practices across a range of clinical services.

The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimise medicines management, improve patient outcomes, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care within a fast-paced hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical pharmacy services across designated wards and departments.
• Support safe and effective prescribing practices throughout the hospital.
• Undertake medicines reconciliation and clinical medication reviews.
• Provide specialist pharmaceutical advice to medical, nursing, and allied healthcare professionals.
• Promote medicines optimisation and support the safe use of medicines.
• Contribute to discharge planning and continuity of care initiatives.
• Participate in clinical audits, governance activities, and service improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Have previous NHS hospital pharmacy experience.
• Demonstrate experience working at Band 7 level or equivalent.
• Possess strong clinical knowledge and prescribing support experience.
• Have experience undertaking clinical medication reviews and medicines reconciliation.
• Be confident working independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrate excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Independent Prescriber qualification is desirable but not essential.
