As a Project Buyer you will have the opportunity to independently lead the Order to Pay phase of large and time sensitive engineering projects.

You will be expected to run the Order to Pay process for assigned projects with minimal supervision

You will also be working closely with our engineering and logistics teams to find the most optimal supply chain setup for the project in a dynamic environment.

You will be part of a very experienced team in Maersk Procurement with a long track record of driving procurement very professionally with a strong focus on automation, decarbonization and ESG agenda.

This position is an Individual Contributor role based in Mumbai, India with minimal need for travel.

Key responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced purchase/ procurement/ supply chain manager who is passionate about Supply Chain and has the agility, drive and discipline to ensure on-time and in-full execution as per project timelines.

Your responsibilities include:

• Executing projects for retrofit and upgrades on existing vessels
• Ongoing management of internal and external stakeholder relationships with a strong emphasis on creating partnerships and cooperation’s that drive results.
• Analysis and interpretation of project plans to assess risks, drive optimization, and continuous improvement on a global level.
• Driving supplier performance and handling and resolving conflicts constructively.

We are looking for

This position is well-suited to an individual with strong interpersonal skills, capable of developing and influencing internal and external relationships. The ideal candidate will come with :

• A proven track record of planning and executing projects in an international matrix organization.
• Has a strong commercial mindset with a natural focus on achieving the most cost-effective solutions for the business.
• Strong time management and ability to prioritize under ambitious timelines
• Experience with in execution of large EPC projects will be considered an advantage
• An educational background in relevant fields of Engineering and/or a Masters in Supply Chain or Operations Management

Furthermore you:

• Are a self-driven team player, who understands the importance of stakeholder management, can build rapport at all levels even in challenging situations and can encourage and influence others without authority
• Have an entrepreneurial mindset and strong analytical skills.
• Are able to take ownership, work independently in a structured manner and achieve concrete results.
• You can handle risks and uncertainties and are flexible in adapting when priorities change. You feel comfortable challenging the status quo and are motivated to lead change.
• Are an excellent communicator in English both in writing and in speaking.
