[What the role is]
As a member of the supervision team, you will undertake firm-specific risk assessments and thematic or industry-wide analyses to evaluate the conduct of intermediaries and identify emerging trends or risks that may have implications for MAS’ objective of fostering safe and sound intermediaries that conduct their business fairly and transparently.[What you will be working on]
You will be part of a team responsible for the supervision of investment intermediaries. You are expected to develop a good understanding of their operations, risk management practices and conduct-related risks and mitigating measures. You will also need to keep pace with new developments and business models in the investment management industry.
As a member of the supervision team, you will undertake firm-specific risk assessments and thematic or industry-wide analyses to evaluate the conduct of intermediaries and identify emerging trends or risks that may have implications for MAS’ objective of fostering safe and sound intermediaries that conduct their business fairly and transparently. You may also be required to assess the effectiveness of intermediaries’ risk management frameworks and internal controls, as well as the adequacy of their market conduct practices.
[What we are looking for]
- Good working knowledge of funds and asset management industry, and applicable regulations.
- Prior working experience in the regulatory, financial or audit industry is preferred.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong background in data analytics, and proven ability to identify and present key risk insights on short timeline.
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
You will be working in a fast-paced environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and needs of stakeholders, as well as the agility to respond to changes and developments.
This is a 1-year contract position. As part of the shortlisting process for this role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.
