Job Description
The Area Sales Manager/Senior Area Sales Manager (ASM/Sr. ASM) will be responsible for driving sales and market share growth for Becton Dickinson's Specimen Management portfolio within a designated territory in India. This role involves developing and executing sales strategies and managing customer relationships
Job Responsibilities:**
* Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets for the Specimen Management product portfolio within the designated territory.
* Develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand market share and penetrate new accounts.
* Identify and cultivate strong relationships with key opinion leaders, laboratory directors, clinicians, and procurement personnel in hospitals, diagnostic centers, and research institutions.
* Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and in-service training to customers.
* Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities and provide feedback to marketing and product development teams.
* Manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation and qualification to proposal development, negotiation, and closing.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including marketing, technical support, and customer service, to ensure seamless customer experience.
* Prepare and submit accurate sales forecasts, reports, and expense reports in a timely manner.
* Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
* Train, mentor, and support junior sales team members (if applicable).
Job Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's degree in a life science discipline (e.g., Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry), Pharmacy, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
* Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive sales experience in the medical device, diagnostics, or pharmaceutical industry, with a strong focus on specimen collection, pre-analytical solutions, or laboratory consumables.
* Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong understanding of the Indian healthcare market, including tender processes and key stakeholders.
* Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
* Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
* Valid driver's license.
