The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis is recruiting for its 2027 Summer Internship Program! There are multiple postings covering our various opportunities; you may apply to more than one posting or be interested in more than one of the opportunities below.

Our summer internships provide talented students an opportunity to gain valuable experience by working on projects that support our business areas; and ultimately impact the national economy.

Our intern program also allows insight into the possible future entry-level positions and be exposed to several areas across the division and bank.
Regardless of which internship, all our interns experience the following:
• Networking within the Bank and across the Federal Reserve System
• Various events ranging from Leadership Q&As to development-oriented sessions and much more
• Dedicated intern mentor program
• Exposure to Bank operations and mission driven work

The following opportunities are part of our Business Generalist internship, encompassing opportunities in supporting our various divisions. More information is below on each opportunity.

HR Intern – Intern on the Talent Management team, supporting multiple programs such across our portfolio, including but not limited to: Career Development Academy and Leadership Development. Additional support of vendor management and other ad hoc needs. Exposure to other areas of HR is possible. Interest in HR is highly desired.

Financial Management Intern – Support multiple teams within FM through hands-on work around month end, budgeting and forecasting support. Additionally, support cross-team analytical projects that build a comprehensive understanding of core financial management processes. Prefer business or accounting interest. Utilize Excel, Power BI or Tableau alongside analytical skills.

Audit Intern – Act as an assisting auditor, gaining exposure and the skills relevant for audit or accounting careers such as interviewing clients, reviewing support and documenting workpapers. In addition, you will gain exposure to the broader Federal Reserve System and audit community. Majoring in finance, accounting, or economics along with an interest in an audit career is preferred.

TRSO (Treasury Relations & Support Office) Intern – The intern will support the Customer Relationship (CRM) Application Project by building application profiles, generating metadata tracking ideas, and creating enhanced reporting for CRM end users. They will assist in Technology, Operations, and Risks Projects, contributing to business analysis for cloud migration, operations, risk management, predictive data analysis, and data visualization.

ISPS (Internal Support, Payments and SASTeC) Intern – Supporting our Facilities team this cross-functional role will give exposure to various business needs across the entire division, including but not limited to: Vendor Support & Management, process enhancements to Onboarding and Offboarding, Data Reporting, Budget, Business Analytics, Currency Operations, Workforce planning, Branch Operations. Candidates should be interested in Business or Information Systems.

Bank Examiner – Supporting our Banking Supervision and Regulation group; this intern would assist on department projects related to Banking Conditions, Supervision trends and insights or other related topics as well as participate in field assignments. Regional travel possible. Background or Interest in accounting or finance helpful.

Business Analyst – Create PowerBI dashboards, automate workflows and incorporate more tools to help create more efficient processes. Familiarity with or interest in automation tools or process mapping tools like PowerAutomate or Visio

The Details

The internship will be 35 hours/week in a hybrid environment in downtown Saint Louis. The internship will run 9 weeks, June 7th – August 6th. This is a paid internship, $20-$22/hr depending on your year of school.
