Team mission

As the Senior UX Manager for Transactions and On-Trip, you will lead a small team of product designers, content designers, and researchers. You will be responsible for the customer experience across our payments, checkout, and post-booking service journeys, with a focus on reliability, flexibility, and support at scale. Your teams are the stewards for hassle-free transacting, payment integrity, and all aspects of post-purchase fulfilment - from confirmations to flexibility, through to multi-channel on-trip support and resolution. You’ll enable travelers to move from booking to experience in a secure, seamless, and supported way aligned with business and regulatory requirements.

Your mission

• Lead and manage a team of 3 designers, 2 content designers, and 1 researcher (dotted line), focused on Transactions (checkout, payments, wallets, refund flows) and On-Trip (post-booking service, fulfillment, resolution, multi-channel support).
• Enable your team to deliver measurable improvements in conversion, payment reliability, post-booking NPS, and customer support efficiency.
• Develop strong relationships and collaborate closely with PM, engineering, research, risk, compliance, data analytics, and support ops.
• Guide your team to solve for technical complexity in payments, anti-fraud/security, and regulatory requirements without sacrificing usability.
• Drive structured problem-solving for ambiguous service challenges e.g., guest issues at redemption, refund quick-resolution, or cross-timezone support handoff.
• Build and evangelize best-in-class experiments, data-driven design, and rapid optimization for all payment and support touchpoints.
• Coach your team for excellence in delivery and personal growth; you ship high-quality work at speed and scale, raising the bar on craft and process.
• Maintain high standards for operational excellence, resilience, and compliance, proactively identifying UX risks that affect financial transactions or support.
• Lead and participate in critical design reviews, resolving trade-offs between security, legal, customer needs, and speed-to-market.

Your toolkit

• 8+ years previous experience leading and managing a team of at least 4-6 designers for consumer products 
• 4+ years previous experience as a design manager with scope including leading designers and responsible for at least 2 verticals with a high level of complexity and ambiguity resulting in measurable impact results 
• Experience working in fast-paced environments, solving ambiguity through structured design thinking and frameworks. Demonstrate the ability to take projects from zero to one.
• Past experience as a senior designer working on B2C product experiences
• Experience working with test and algo-driven products. Deep understanding of an experimentation-driven design process. 
• Top-notch design craft and ability to rapidly ideate and produce design concepts 
• Top communication skills to clearly articulate and defend your design while making trade-offs with complex product and policy definitions.  
• Ability to wear a PM hat by influencing product strategies while balancing ideal visions vs. execution path to business impact. 
• An entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, and drive clarity that brings the user, technology, and business together into an actionable roadmap
• Communicating with multiple levels of stakeholders, including senior leadership

The journey is designed to develop you into a true functional expert with the potential to grow in our dynamic organization. You will embark on a specialized learning journey, with rotations designed to build depth in product Design.

You will journey from the conceptual sketch to the final product on the shelf. You will rotate through the core pillars of our design organization, gaining a holistic, 360-degree view of what it takes to build world-class, disruptive sportswear.

Your two-year path is structured to build your expertise across our ecosystem:

• Rotation 1: Apparel & Accessories Design (6 Months) Master the foundations of On’s design language. You will collaborate with our Apparel team to translate consumer insights into functional, aesthetic, and performance-driven collections.
• Rotation 2: Footwear Design (6 Months) Pivot to the core of our business. You will dive into the technical complexities of footwear design, learning how to balance biomechanics, innovation, and our signature aesthetic.
• Rotation 3: Production & Development Insights (5 Months) Theory meets reality. You will travel to Vietnam to work directly with our development teams. You will witness firsthand how your designs are industrialized, solved for manufacturing, and brought to life in the factory.
• Rotation 4: Tailored Specialization (7 Months) The final rotation is shaped through a balance of your performance and interests, alongside the needs of the business. Based on this, you will deep-dive into a specialised area such as Innovation Design, Color & Material, Visual Exploration, or Sustainability.

Your mission

• Collaborative Creation: Work closely with cross-functional partners in Product Development, Material Science, and Product Management to ensure design integrity from inception to mass production.
• The Design Lifecycle: Engage in the full end-to-end design process: research, ideation, 3D modeling/sketching, fitting, and finalization.
• Global Perspective: Act as a conduit between the Design Studio and our global manufacturing partners, sharing feedback loops and finding solutions to complex technical challenges.

• Background: You hold a Master’s degree in Fashion Design, Industrial Design, Footwear Design, or a closely related creative field.
• The Portfolio: You have a compelling portfolio that demonstrates a mastery of form, color, silhouette, and a deep understanding of technical garment or product construction.
• Cross-Disciplinary Mindset: You don’t see barriers between categories; you see opportunities for innovation. Whether your primary passion is footwear or apparel, you are genuinely excited to master both. You are a "product creator first," meaning you are eager to challenge your comfort zone, apply textile knowledge to performance footwear, or use biomechanical insights to inform apparel. You are fully committed to diving deep into every rotation, regardless of the category, to become a truly versatile designer.
• Technical Toolkit: You are proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign). Proficiency in 3D design software (e.g., CLO3D, Rhino, Gravity Sketch) is highly valued.
• The "On" Mindset: You possess an entrepreneurial spirit. You are as comfortable with a messy, conceptual brainstorm as you are with the precision required for technical specs and critical timelines.

About the team

You will be based in the heart of our vibrant and diverse Global Design Studio in Zurich – the creative engine responsible for all of On’s disruptive product designs.

The studio encompasses footwear, apparel and accessories design, color and material, innovation design and sustainability. While our teams are structured into verticals to cater to the unique needs of different communities, we operate as a deeply connected ecosystem. Throughout your rotations, you will collaborate with a multitude of multidisciplinary teams across the entire product organization, from innovation and development to color and material.

The Role

We’re looking for an iOS Developer Intern to help build and launch a brand-new iOS application from the ground up. You’ll work closely with senior iOS engineers, a product manager, and a designer to develop and iterate on core features using SwiftUI and The Composable Architecture (TCA). This internship offers real ownership of well-scoped features, hands-on experience preparing an app for public release, and exposure to best practices for shipping production-ready iOS apps. You’ll contribute to a product tackling meaningful privacy challenges, particularly in areas impacting women’s digital privacy with the potential to reach 100+ million users.

What you will do:

• Contribute to the development and launch of a brand-new iOS application
• Build and iterate on core product features using TCA, SwiftUI
• Take ownership of well-scoped features with real impact on the final product
• Help prepare the app for public release, including testing, polishing, and performance improvements
• Participate in code reviews and learn best practices for shipping production-ready iOS apps
• Work on a product designed to address meaningful privacy challenges, including areas impacting women’s digital privacy

What we are looking for: 

• Solid understanding of Swift
• Basic familiarity with SwiftUI and TCA
• Experience building at least one iOS app or feature (school, personal, or hobby)
• Ability to use Xcode and run/debug on simulator or device
• Confortable with version control (Git)
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Interest in privacy, security, or user trust

• Having shipped or published a personal app (TestFlight or App Store)
• Basic experience writing unit tests or UI tests
• Understanding of networking layers (URLSession, handling errors, retries)
• Ability to measure performance or track crashes (Xcode instruments, basics)
