Your Impact
You’ll be part of an engineering team, participate in multiple activities to develop features of Axon’s camera products from inception, through design, development, and release. You live and breathe device software that require high stability and fast, consistent performance. You love working with the latest open source technologies, and can leverage your system design skills to make the right technical decisions on a system that needs to be bullet-proof.
Not only can you drive decisions among competing engineering trade-offs, your empathy with customers allows you to intuit innovative solutions for our customer problems. You will be working closely with product managers and designers to ensure we are building the right solution for our customers. You also enjoy mentoring other engineers, and love to be a hands-on teacher helping to up level the engineers around you as of a senior engineer.

What You’ll Do
Work Location: This role is based out of our Ho Chi Minh Office and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation. Report to: Software Engineering Manager
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy new features for Axon’s camera systems in in a secure, privacy preserving way.
- Coordinate across teams on a breadth of platforms including desktop, mobile applications, and backend services.
- Set a high technical bar for the team through code and architecture design reviews.
- Participate in technical issues troubleshooting and solving of the team.
- Resolve ambiguity in product requirements potentially resolve conflicting requirements.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers.
What you bring
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics, or an equivalent technical field.
- 2 years experience of professional embedded software development. Understanding of computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, run-time analysis, object-oriented design and code quality verification.
- Solid programming skills, and programming language experience with C/C++, Golang.
- Experience with embedded Linux development, writing unit test, integration and/or system level tests.
- Strong in embedded software problems troubleshooting and solving skills.
- Have knowledge of embedded networking tech stack (network protocols TCP/IP, UDP, Bluetooth, DNS, WiFi, etc.).
- Ability of quick learning and adapt to new technologies and systems.
- Good English communication.

We are working with a decentralised exchange which looks to innovate on providing the best of CEXs and DEXs, focusing on building a safe, simple and scalable platform for trading. They differentiate themselves by offering institutional level systems and support whilst remaining on-chain and decentralised.
We are in search of a highly adept Trading Systems Engineer for the core Engineering team to strengthen the platform's performance, scalability, and observability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in low-latency trading systems and experience supporting clients like quant funds and market makers in integrating with APIs (both REST and WebSocket).
As the Trading Gateway Engineer, responsibilities include implementing core connectivity systems to expand the trading engine into a global, low-latency network. This involves building foundational data distribution channels and improving their throughput and latency.
Successful candidates will engage with clients' developers and project managers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues. Collaboration with the Gateway team and Trading Engineering will be essential to troubleshoot API and trading issues while contributing to the overall Gateway roadmap. Additionally, work with the Product Engineering team to enhance the SDK for blockchain signatures used by API traders.
What you’ll be doing:
- Develop and optimize the core matching engine and risk engine for the exchange, ensuring high performance and low latency.
- Write highly reliable, production-ready code that guarantees the financial safety and integrity of computations.
- Investigate and debug complex issues through thorough analysis of logs.
- Create and maintain comprehensive unit tests and advanced integration tests to validate the exchange's financial computational correctness.
- Work with the Quant team to develop, test, and refine our various trading algorithms.
- Continuously improve and refine the trading core to meet evolving business and technical requirements.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in HFT systems and low-latency trading technologies.
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years focused on high-frequency trading (HFT) systems.

- Proven experience in building and optimizing low-latency trading infrastructure. Proficient in low-latency message bus systems such as Aeron or Chronicle Queue.

The Backend Engineer will be a key member to assist in building out our web services and backend persistence layer. Successful candidates should have a minimum of three years of recent professional programming in positions requiring the skills listed below with an emphasis on Golang, SQL and data modeling development. Our project entails implementing our pre-approved development targets and developing a robust and reusable code framework to deliver a variety of new features across our product lines according to our preferred architecture design and best practices. Our backend stack is a combination of Golang, Redis, MySQL, and Snowflake while following the Clean Architecture Design pattern. APIs are documented and managed using the Open API framework and maintained in ReadMe. All development work is managed via JIRA tracked sprints, Github trunk-based management, and infrastructure is managed in AWS with monitoring in Datadog.
Responsibilities (What we expect)
- Collaborate on the design of data models, technical architecture, data flows, schemas, and API contracts.
- Relay updates on existing work via Jira ticket status, push well documented pull requests for features, and collaborate through review and comments on your fellow developer pull requests.
- Building scalable and robust APIs within Go following the Clean Architecture Design pattern and API best practices around security and scaling.
- Write/Update Open API documentation to document new/existing APIs.
- Write/Update unit and integration tests to ensure adequate test coverage of our code base.
Qualifications (What you bring to the role)
- At least 3+ years experience professionally programming in Go.
- At least 3+ years of experience specifically building back-end systems.
- At least 3 years of experience writing SQL against normalized data structures.

- Collaborate on the design of data models, technical architecture, data flows, schemas, and API contracts.
- Relay updates on existing work via Jira ticket status, push well documented pull requests for features, and collaborate through review and comments on your fellow developer pull requests.
- Building scalable and robust data flows using Databricks, DBT and Snowflake.
- Add/Update to our backend persistence model in MySQL by writing SQL based migration scripts.
- Write/Update data test using native DBT tests and frameworks like Great Expectations to ensure adequate test coverage of our code base.
Qualifications (What you bring to the role)
- At least 3+ years experience building/managing data pipelines within Databricks.
- At least 3+ years experience transforming data in Snowflake with tools like DBT.
- At least 3+ years of experience specifically building data and ML pipelines
- At least 3 years of experience writing SQL against normalized data structures.
- Proficiency with code debugging and uncovering performance issues utilizing developer tooling.
- Proficiency writing data tests.
- ExperienceProficiency in English language is highly preferred.
How You'll Know You’re on the Right Track
- Within your first day, you should have been able to clone the repository and install the necessary tooling to build and run our projects in cloud based IDEs such as Databricks and DBT.
- Within your first week, you will be familiarizing yourself with the code base and coordinating work on development tickets as requested.
- Within your first month, you should be successfully operating within the development team, submitting PRs, providing feedback on team member PRs, and advancing your assigned projects with your contributions.
- Within your first year, you should be contributing to the data and software engineering teams to provide your personal insights as to how to improve our processes and architectures.
Job Type:
Full-time position located in Vietnam governed by Vietnam labour regulations, with the Persefoni entity being established in Vietnam.
