As a Software Validation Engineer, you are the bridge between pure code and physical reality. You will design and maintain the environments—Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL)—that allow us to stress-test our power electronics and site controllers. Your mission is to build the automated frameworks that catch edge cases before they hit the field, ensuring every product we ship meets the highest standards of reliability.

At PsiQuantum, we are developing and testing prototype modules that will scale into a datacenter-sized, fault-tolerant quantum computer. Responsibilities:
Build and integrate firmware and frameworks across device teams to enhance efficiency and collaboration.

Required Qualifications:

The vision
As a Senior Performance & Tooling Engineer, you will design and build advanced performance testing and monitoring tools. Your work will enable development teams to measure, optimize, and scale system performance across Linux, CPU, DPU, and PCIe environments. This role offers the opportunity to work on deeply technical, low-level engineering challenges that have a direct impact on product performance and reliability.
What you’ll do
Design, build, and own a performance tooling suite across CPU/DPU/PCIe.
Develop load generators to saturate PCIe, NICs, and storage paths; model real-world and worst-case network/storage traffic.
Instrument the stack with Linux perf, ftrace, and eBPF to capture timings, contention, cache/memory effects, and I/O paths.
Create repeatable experiments to characterize throughput, latency, jitter, tail behaviors, and scalability limits.
Build automated performance testbeds and CI pipelines that run on every change (smoke, regression, soak, and chaos scenarios).
Establish golden signals, SLOs, and dashboards; visualize trends and regressions for fast triage.

Architect and develop mission-critical software for a next-generation automated oligo synthesizer, enabling precise control of mechanical, fluidic, and electrical systems. This role will focus on team management and embedded electronic design and product development for our ambitious product roadmap of vacuum & cleaning products. The successful candidate will have experience in analog and digital embedded design, including both hardware (schematic capture and PCB layout) and firmware (C and ASM), preferably in consumer products or similar. This team member will participate in ideas on how to best use electronics to comply with marketing and engineering requirements and support overall development from conceptualization to implementation of new products. This engineer will be directly involved in the design and building of prototypes that will drive new products to expand and improve our costumer experience with Shark brand products.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Design analog and digital circuits including low noise analog circuits, A/D and D/A converters, microprocessors, communication interfaces, linear and switched-mode power supplies.
Perform design, debugging, and board bring-up of analog and digital real-time embedded electronics for microprocess-based control and communication hardware platform using combination of simulation, analysis, prototyping and testing.

Contribute to project work directly through architecture, schematics and software design while supporting DVT, DQTP, EMC and compliance testing.

Design and development of consumer product electronics from initial concept to on-going product support within our global development organization.
Support fielded products and perform analysis of field-reported issues
Functional Skills & Knowledge:
Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
Ability to work independently and in a team demonstrating initiative with minimal guidance
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) along with good sound interpersonal skill
Education & Experience:
BS in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years related experience, or advanced degree and 3+ years related experience Previous industry experience working for a consumer products company or a consultant company in the consumer goods space is highly desirable.

Summary of Position
This role is for an individual contributor and will focus on technical leadership of embedded electronic design and product development lifecycle for our product roadmap.
