Our Database Experience (DBX) Team

The Database Experience team builds the libraries and tools that developers use day-to-day working with MongoDB. Our mission is to increase developer adoption, satisfaction and retention by providing a reliable, enjoyable interface for developers and other end-users.

For this role, we're looking for someone who would enjoy designing, writing, and supporting open-source libraries using MongoDB. You will have the opportunity to work with other veteran Java programmers, as you deepen your knowledge of the Java ecosystem, and help streamline and increase the adoption of MongoDB.

 You'll be on the team responsible for

• Java driver, Java Reactive Streams Driver, Scala Driver, Kotlin Driver, Spark Connector, and other JVM-based projects
• Integrations with other open-source software, such as ORM frameworks and AI tools
• Testing, delivering and supporting the above across multiple operating systems, JDKs, and MongoDB releases

You'll have responsibilities beyond writing code, including

• Working with our Product, Server, Cloud, and other driver teams on designs and specifications for new customer-facing MongoDB features
• Investigating bugs and support requests from commercial and open-source customers for the libraries and tools our team maintains
• Seeking out speaking or writing opportunities to engage with our developer community
• Mentoring junior engineers in both technical and non-technical professional skills

About the Team:

We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer I/II to join our Data Ingestion Team, which builds and operates the critical infrastructure that serves as the “front door” of StackAdapt’s event flow. In this role, you’ll own technical direction for critical parts of our ingestion platform, lead large-scale initiatives, and shape how data flows across the company.

The Data Ingestion team tackles complex distributed systems challenges at massive scale, with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability. Our systems process over 10 billion events per day, powering core functions across bidding, reporting, billing, analytics, and machine learning. You will work on challenging technical problems and partner with teams across the company to drive key initiatives.

We design + build low-latency, highly reliable distributed systems for impressions, clicks, conversions, and third-party signals, ensuring data is accurate and available to downstream teams in real time. This is a high-impact area at the core of StackAdapt’s platform, the systems you own will directly shape data quality, system reliability, and the speed at which teams across the company can build and innovate. ETI’s Storage Infrastructure team is responsible for the core storage layer that underpins many of ETI's stateful services. Our scope ranges from managing the physical hardware to operating the distributed databases and storage systems built upon it. What You’ll Do

In this role, you will help build and operate the next generation of globally distributed storage systems. You will own your code from inception to release, delivering solutions at all layers of the stack. On any given day, you might write a design document for a new provisioning system, model failure domain dependencies across edge locations, benchmark new storage hardware, build standardized observability and runbooks for distributed database clusters, or automate operational toil through purpose-built tooling and intelligent automation. For example, we apply LLMs to answer user questions with conversational agents and personalize product documentation, and are building automated systems to solve complex user problems. • Bachelor's Degree in ML/AI or related field (e.g. math, physics, statistics)
• 3+ years in AI/ML and backend engineering, including building and operating production ML systems at global scale with stringent SLOs—balancing reliability, latency, and cost—with privacy, security, and compliance by design.
• Deep and up-to-date applied LLM experience: RAG/embeddings, tool use/function calling, agentic planning/orchestration architectures, post-training methods, code generation, benchmarks and evaluations, etc. Familiarity with classical ML methods and common frameworks e.g. Pytorch, TensorFlow.
• Proficient in Python; strong distributed systems and data science fundamentals.

About this role

As a Staff Machine Learning Platform Engineer, you will help design, improve, and operate a scalable ML platform to accelerate model training, deployment, and governance. You are the technical bridge between data science and production engineering.  You’ll be joining a small but deeply critical team that scales Faire’s ability to support tens of thousands of local businesses in a constantly narrowing retail landscape.

What You Will Do

• Design and operate ML infrastructure, including workspaces, clusters, jobs, and workflows
• Productionize ML workloads using Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, and Databricks Workflows
• Teach data scientists how to utilize our ML platform to advance development from notebook to production for our most critical models
• Implement Unity Catalog for data governance, lineage, access control, and secure multi-tenant usage
• Build CI/CD pipelines for ML using Terraform and Git-based workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions)
• Optimize performance, reliability, and cost across training and inference workloads
• Configure Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Role Based Authentication Controls (RBAC) for sensitive data sets

What it takes

• 8+ years of experience building production ML or data platforms
• A degree (preferably graduate level) in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related technical field
• Strong hands-on expertise with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and distributed systems concepts
• Experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure-as-code
• Solid understanding of MLOps best practices: CI/CD, monitoring, reproducibility, and security
• Experience supporting multiple ML teams in a shared platform environment
• Are an active owner of orphaned problems and are willing to assimilate whatever knowledge you’re missing to get the job done

Salary Range

Canada: the pay range for this role is $216,000 to $297,000 per year.

Within the Product Security team, our Red Team delivers robust security assurance for Okta's products, services, and infrastructure.  You will be the team's dedicated infrastructure and tooling engineer, the first person in this role for a small team of operators. You will work alongside operators but not report through an operator chain; you'll collaborate as a peer focused on a different discipline.

We seek a Staff Security Infrastructure Engineer to own the engineering backbone that enables our operations. This is not a traditional operator role but a dedicated infrastructure, tooling, and automation engineering position embedded within the Red Team.  You will design, build, maintain, and continuously improve the platforms, infrastructure, and custom tooling that our operators depend on to execute engagements.

The Team

Platform Engineering is the department within SRE that is responsible for a range of critical infrastructure and operational functions that support the broader engineering organization. Among these are our multi-cloud-provider Kubernetes infrastructure, networking, load balancing (including our public-facing edge and internal service mesh), and observability and alerting systems.

The Fleet Management team provides the core runtime environment that empowers our developers to build and ship products to delight our customers. We manage the end-to-end lifecycle of our Kubernetes fleet, alongside the critical components that ensure cluster reliability and security (e.g., CoreDNS, cert-manager, and Gatekeeper). • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional Software Development experience with a deep understanding of the full SDLC, system design, and clean code principles.
• 7+ years of experience in Platform Engineering with a focus on running large-scale production environments.
• Proficiency in Python or Go for automation, tool building, and AI agent integration.
• Experience managing Kubernetes (AKS) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Terragrunt) in a team-based environment.

Nice to Have: 

• Proven track record of building or contributing to an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) (e.g., Backstage, internal CLI tools, or custom portals).
• Experience collaborating with application teams to define SLIs/SLOs and improve service reliability.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and lead team-wide technical initiatives.
• Experience implementing GitOps (ArgoCD) and Policy-as-Code (Kyverno) to standardize team workflows.
• Familiarity with building Agentic AI tools to automate repetitive operational tasks (toil).
• Expertise in Datadog for observability, dashboarding, and incident response.

Team-Agnostic Placement

We don't hire for a team. We hire for CircleCI. Where you land depends on where your strengths create the most leverage, and we figure that out together. You might own the CI pipeline experience, deploy and release tooling, notification infrastructure, monetization flows, AI agent surfaces, or the foundational web platform. The through line across all of it is the same: full-stack ownership, a high bar for craft, and work that directly shapes how tens of thousands of developers experience CircleCI every day.

What You'll Do

• Build AI-natively. AI is how we work. It’s not a productivity layer on top of engineering, but the default starting point for how problems get approached and solved.
• Invent new interfaces. Software delivery is being reinvented. Pipelines run autonomously, generate fixes, and surface results that need human judgment. The tools developers use to understand, trust, and act on that work don't exist yet. You'll define what they look like.
• Obsess over craft. Reliability and responsiveness are design concerns, not afterthoughts. Care about how the interface holds up when stakes are high.
• Champion observability. Use Honeycomb, Datadog, and Rollbar to understand and improve your systems. Operational data drives stability, not just incident response.
• Pick up slack. You'll notice gaps and close them — not because you were asked, but because that's the standard we hold ourselves to.

What You'll Bring

• AI-native engineering practices. You use AI tools daily and can speak to what you've built, where they changed your approach, and where they fall short. 
• A track record of shipping. You've built something real and put it in front of users. 3+ years of production full-stack, backend leaning experience.
• Backend depth. Strong backend expertise in Go, including API design, data modeling, and service integration, with the ability to contribute across the stack when needed.
• System design. You think about architecture, not just features. You make conscious tradeoffs and document your reasoning.
• Production mindset. Latency, responsiveness, and reliability are design concerns. You're comfortable operating services in a distributed environment.
