About the Opportunity

We are hiring a Senior Personalization Solution Architect with deep domain expertise in personalization and experimentation to join Contentful’s Professional Services team. This role is designed for a practitioner who has built, operated, and scaled personalization programs in production, and who also brings the hands-on technical skills required to implement those programs in modern, composable architectures.

This is not a generalist Solution Architect role with light exposure to personalization. Success in this role requires strong opinions and real-world experience across audience strategy, decisioning, experimentation, and measurement—paired with the ability to design and deliver high-quality technical implementations using Contentful Personalization.

You will work directly with customer engineering, product, and marketing teams to design and implement advanced personalization and experimentation solutions, while also serving as a customer-facing extension of Contentful’s Product and Engineering teams. Your work will help reduce implementation risk, accelerate time to value, and create tighter feedback loops into product development—specifically for complex personalization use cases.

What to expect? 

Personalization & Experimentation Domain Leadership 

• Own the end-to-end design of personalization and experimentation programs, including:
• audience and segmentation strategies grounded in behavioral, contextual, and first-party data
• experience decisioning models that balance relevance, performance, and governance

What you need to be successful?

Required: Personalization & Experimentation Domain Expertise

• Demonstrated, hands-on experience designing and operating personalization and experimentation programs in production, including:
• ownership of audience strategy and decisioning logic

About the team

The Applied AI Engineering team ensures our customers get the optimal experience from DevRev. • Champion Quality & DevOps: Drive the adoption of "Shift-Left" testing, CI/CD automation, and observability tools to ensure our enterprise tools are as resilient as our consumer-facing products.
• Collaborate & Mentor: Partner with Product Managers and UX Designers to translate business requirements into technical reality, while mentoring mid-level engineers through code reviews and pair programming.

What You'll Bring:

• Full Stack Mastery: 8+ years of professional experience building and scaling production-grade applications using modern frameworks like React/Next.js and Node.js, Go, Python or Java.
• System Design Fluency: Deep understanding of distributed systems, REST/GraphQL API design, and how to optimize for performance across the entire stack.
• Cloud-Native Mindset: Hands-on experience with AWS (Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) in a CI/CD environment.
• Database Expertise: Proficiency with both relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL solutions, including experience handling large-scale data migrations.
• Modern Web Expertise: Strong command of CSS-in-JS, TypeScript, and state management libraries (Redux/Zustand), with a focus on accessibility and performance.
• Agile Leadership: Proven ability to lead features from conception to deployment in an Agile/Scrum environment, making pragmatic trade-offs between speed and technical debt.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
