About the Cloud Payments team

Cloud Payments is part of the Cloud Billing organization. As MongoDB’s Cloud business grows, the billing and payments stack becomes increasingly mission‑critical. Our team:

• Ingests and aggregates detailed metering and usage data from internal services and major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Calculates and generates daily customer bills for millions of customers worldwide
• Integrates with payment processors and internal financial systems to support Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Accounting
• Continuously improves customer-facing billing and payments experiences and the reliability and scalability of our backend systems

We’re a group of engineers who care deeply about code quality, correctness, and observability, and who are comfortable collaborating with both highly technical partners and non-technical stakeholders across the business.

The role

We’re looking for a Software Engineer 3 to help design, build, and operate the services that power Cloud Payments. You’ll work primarily in the JVM ecosystem (Java and related tooling), with a focus on large-scale, distributed systems that have to be correct, resilient, and auditable.

This is a Canada-based, fully remote role. You’ll collaborate closely with teammates and stakeholders across North America time zones, including engineers in the broader Cloud Billing organization.

What you’ll do

In this role, you will:

• Design, implement, and operate backend services that ingest, process, and reconcile large volumes of usage and billing data from internal and external systems
• Collaborate with product, Finance, Revenue, and other engineering teams to evolve our billing and payments capabilities and improve customer experience
• Own features end‑to‑end: requirements, design, implementation, testing, rollout, monitoring, and iterative improvement
• Help scale and harden our systems as Atlas and our broader Cloud business continue to grow rapidly
• Participate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and code reviews to keep our systems robust and maintainable
• Contribute to improving our tooling, observability, and development workflows so the whole team can move faster and safer
• Take part in an on‑call rotation that treats reliability as a team sport, not an individual burden

What we’re looking for

You may be a great fit if you:

• Have 3+ years of experience building and maintaining backend systems in a compiled language, ideally Java
• Understand core object‑oriented design principles and how to apply them to complex, evolving systems
• Have experience with distributed systems and services that need to be highly available, observable, and correct at scale
• Are comfortable working with databases (relational and/or non‑relational such as MongoDB) in production environments
• Communicate clearly and enjoy working with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders across multiple teams
• Are curious, collaborative, and motivated by solving real customer and business problems rather than just closing tickets

Nice to have (but not required):

• Experience with billing, payments, or other financial systems where correctness, auditability, and compliance really matter
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and modern communication protocols like gRPC
• Familiarity with data-intensive applications, data pipelines, or data lakes
• Exposure to working with I/O frameworks like Reactor
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Prior exposure to MongoDB as a developer or operator

What You’ll Do

As a Back-End Developer at Poka, you’ll play a key role in building, improving, and maintaining the services and infrastructure that power our applications and support thousands of frontline workers. You’ll work closely with Product, Frontend, QA, and Engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions — while continuously improving how we build.

What You Bring

• 3+ years of experience in backend application development

We are seeking a Senior DevOps & Site Reliability Engineer to own the reliability, scalability, performance, and operational excellence of Medeloop’s platform. This role blends deep DevOps engineering—CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and cloud architecture—with SRE discipline: SLOs, incident management, capacity planning, observability and a relentless focus on system uptime. You will be the bridge between development and operations, ensuring our clinical research products are always available, performant, and secure for the healthcare organizations that depend on them.

What You'll Own

Cloud Infrastructure & Architecture

• Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS - infrastructure as code (IaC) using AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform, ensuring all environments are version-controlled and reproducible.
• Architect multi-region and disaster recovery strategies that meet healthcare uptime requirements.
• Manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes, optimizing for cost, performance, and resilience.

Site Reliability Engineering

• Define, implement, and monitor Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs) across all production services.
• Build and maintain observability stacks (DataDog, AWS CloudWatch, Sentry) covering metrics, logs, traces, and alerting.
• Lead incident response: triage, mitigate, and drive blameless post-incident reviews with actionable follow-ups.
• Conduct capacity planning and performance engineering to ensure the platform scales ahead of demand.
• Champion error budgets and use them to balance feature velocity with system stability.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks by collaborating with engineering and product teams to evaluate impact and likelihood before they become incidents.
• Participate in and help structure an on-call rotation, ensuring clear escalation paths and fair distribution of after-hours coverage.

CI/CD & Automation

• Build self-service tooling and runbooks that reduce toil and empower development teams to ship independently.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) that enable fast, safe, and repeatable deployments.
• Automate security scanning (SAST, DAST) within pipelines and collaborate with engineering to remediate findings.
• Implement progressive delivery strategies such as canary deployments, blue-green releases, and feature flags.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation, troubleshooting, and building reliability tooling.
• Track and drive down operational toil, targeting less than 50% of team time spent on repetitive manual work.
• Evaluate and manage change risk for production deployments, maintaining change review processes that balance speed with stability.

Security & Compliance

• Ensure infrastructure meets healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA, SOC 2) through policy-as-code, encryption, and access controls.
• Manage networking security (VPCs, subnets, security groups, WAFs) and identity/authentication systems (AWS Cognito, Auth0, OAuth2, SSO).
• Conduct regular security reviews, vulnerability assessments, and patching across the infrastructure estate.

Collaboration & Culture

• Partner closely with product and engineering teams to embed reliability thinking into the software development lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure, runbooks, and operational playbooks.
• Mentor junior engineers on DevOps and SRE best practices, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
• Stay current with advancements in cloud technologies, DevOps tooling, and SRE methodologies.
• Own and evolve internal developer platform tooling — including deployment workflows (GitOps/Flux), bug tracking integrations, and developer self-service portals.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of combined experience in DevOps and/or Site Reliability Engineering roles, with at least 2 years in a senior capacity.
• Deep proficiency with AWS services
• Deep experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as DataDog, AWS CloudWatch, and Sentry.
• Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or equivalent tools.
• Expertise in infrastructure as code using AWS CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
• Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Proven track record of defining and operating against SLOs/SLIs and managing incident response processes.
• Solid understanding of networking (VPCs, subnets, load balancing, DNS), security, and compliance best practices.
• Experience with authentication and authorization systems including AWS Cognito, Auth0, OAuth2, and SSO.
• Proactive, self-directed mindset with a bias toward action and taking initiative.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across teams.
• Strong communication skills—able to explain complex infrastructure decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Passion for unsolved challenges in healthcare AI, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment and wear multiple hats.

Bonus Points

• Multi-cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Familiarity with healthcare data standards, compliance, and protocols such as HIPAA, HL7 FHIR, OMOP, and i2b2.
• Experience with chaos engineering practices and tools (e.g., AWS Fault Injection Simulator, Gremlin).
• Prior experience in a healthcare or life sciences company operating under strict regulatory requirements.
• Contributions to open-source infrastructure or SRE tooling.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or Google SRE certification.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Front-End Developer to help design, build, and improve the AlayaCare platform from idea to production. In this role, you will work closely with Product and Design to create polished, accessible user experiences and scalable front-end patterns that support consistency across teams.

You’ll be part of a cross-functional development team focused on delivering secure, reliable, and fast software. You’ll also contribute to our technical roadmap, support continuous delivery, and help drive high-quality engineering practices across the team.

What You'll Do

• Co-design polished front-end experiences with Product Design, creating intuitive UIs and thoughtful micro-interactions with strong visual quality and attention to detail.
• Contribute to our design system by creating scalable, reusable front-end patterns that improve consistency and speed across teams.
• Design, code, test, and debug complex software as a full-time member of a cross-functional development team.
• Participate in code reviews, sharing and receiving feedback while helping improve reuse, extensibility, maintainability, and scalability across the codebase.
• Monitor applications in production, proactively identifying, diagnosing, and fixing issues with a strong focus on reliability and customer impact.
• Contribute to the product-wide technical roadmap and support cross-team technical initiatives, including responsible adoption of new technologies aligned with industry trends.

What You Bring to the Team

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, or equivalent demonstrated learning experience
• Professional experience with at least one of PHP, Python, or modern JavaScript, including ES6+ and associated frameworks.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks, Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker or similar containerization tools.
• Experience working with design systems (e.g shared component libraries, or design tokens) is a strong asset.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor to improve efficiency and code quality.
• Awareness of contemporary trends in front-end performance, software development tooling, and engineering practices.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A collaborative mindset and comfort working with cross-functional teams across Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders.
• Bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset.
