Mission Summary:
Test Specialists support the business by working with Operations, Testing, Autonomy, Mapping, as well as System and Vehicle Integration Engineers to execute on-vehicle tests, refine test and verification plans, identify and resolve issues, and provide test results. They communicate between teams and help with improving vehicle testing outcomes.
This role will focus on executing on-vehicle tests, reporting out test results, and improving overall testing efficiency by identifying gaps and recommending process refinements. While efficiency is crucial, nothing comes before safety, and the Test Specialists is a key team member to uphold this responsibility.

The Senior Engineer Team Lead is responsible for the validation of the autonomous vehicle stack with a primary emphasis on the interface between software and physical hardware. This role leads the development and execution of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing strategies to ensure that perception, planning, and control algorithms interact safely and reliably with vehicle sensors, actuators, and ECUs.

Mission Summary:
The Autonomy Subsystems team at Motional is focused on designing and evaluating modules of the autonomy software. We are seeking a talented senior engineer to contribute to evaluation of our machine learning subsystems. Our team performs a variety of evaluations of machine learning models, including offline model eval, evaluation of open and closed-loop re-simulations, and assessment of on-road performance. Our goal is to establish metrics that describe autonomy subsystem performance, evaluate against those metrics to validate performance, and provide meaningful insight to ML developers and teams, working closely alongside them to improve the performance of ML models on the car.
We are looking for a highly-technical systems engineer with experience designing and evaluating safety critical systems and machine learning models. Bring your passion for autonomy, robotics, and machine learning to our team to help build a production-ready system and prepare for our scaled robotaxi service deployment.

The incumbent will perform scheduled maintenance and unscheduled repair of diesel engines, electrical generators, brake systems, drive systems, inspection system instrumentation, electrical subsystems, and other railcar appliances. Occasional assignments conducting railroad track inspection operations may be performed. Update and maintain record keeping of performed work.
Job Responsibilities Include:
· Conduct inspections, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs of rail vehicle and sub-systems (Electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and optical systems)
· Complete installations and upgrades, inspections, repairs, and calibrations of measurement systems
· Coordination with design engineering for failure analysis, root cause analysis and product improvement and new system installations
· Analysis and repair of mechanical, electrical, sub-systems, and components

Qualifications Required
• A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical, welding/fabrication fields

Qualifications Required:
This position requires the successful completion of a Public Trust background investigation. Qualified applicants must have resided in the United States for at least three (3) of the past five (5) years for this requirement.
Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience maintaining electrical, electromechanical, or mechanical systems, involving troubleshooting and problem resolution with at least 1 year experience operating ultrasonic inspection systems with strong knowledge of the theory of operation and interpretation of A and B-scan data.
Level II (two) certification in Ultrasonic Testing inspection technology (UT/NDT) or able to acquire Level II qualification within 4 weeks of employment.
Experience with workplace safety programs.
Proficiency with computer applications such as MS Word; Excel; PowerPoint; and Outlook.
Experience reading electrical or electronic schematics and wiring diagrams.
Experience conducting equipment/machinery inspections (periodic maintenance inspection, preventative maintenance) and equipment upkeep.
Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Operating System; transferring files on a network, copying, and pasting.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with tape measure and similar measuring tools.
Functional knowledge of mathematics and fraction measurements.
Valid Driver’s License (need to complete a Department of Transportation medical examination to acquire a Commercial Driver Medical Certification)
Must be able to travel independently for business purposes, including but not limited to booking an independent vehicle rental and hotel accommodations.
