• Perform nonlinear structural simulations using LS-DYNA for component, subsystem, and full-vehicle applications.
• Analyze structural performance, load paths, stiffness, intrusion, and energy management across crash scenarios.
• Build, manage, and execute high-fidelity FE models using ANSA, Primer, and HyperMesh.
• Correlate structural CAE predictions with physical test data and support post-test reviews and root-cause investigations.
• Develop structural countermeasures and support design teams with data-driven recommendations.
• Support CAE integration across crash, NVH, durability, thermal, aero, and vehicle-dynamics domains.
• Review structural changes, reinforcements, joints, and stiffness updates for cross-attribute impacts.
• Contribute to vehicle milestone readiness, design releases, and cross-functional sign-off activities.
• Participate in multi-attribute technical reviews and support continuous improvement of CAE tools and processes.
• Support implementation of AI/ML tools to streamline CAE workflows, including automated preprocessing, model setup, and simulation quality checks.
• Support development and use of AI-driven predictive models to complement traditional simulations, improve early design guidance, and assist cross-attribute decision-making.

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in structural crash CAE within an automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier environment.
• Hands-on experience with LS-DYNA.
• Proficiency with CAE pre- and post-processing tools such as ANSA, Primer, HyperMesh, or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of global crash regulations and consumer safety protocols.
• Strong technical documentation and communication skills.

• Experience with electrified vehicles (BEV/REEV) and/or frame-based vehicle architectures.

What you’ll do

• Responsible for engineering design, and developing vehicle exterior systems including bumpers, fascia, grilles, brackets, exterior trim, bumper beams, hitches and structural reinforcements.
• Develop Scout Bumper/Fascia Standards and Requirements to ensure a robust product. Ensure seamless integration into production processes while meeting all required program milestones and deliverables.
• Participate in and/or lead development of Request for Quotation (RFQ) packages, technical reviews, and supplier selection.
• Lead Product Development Team(s) to collaborate cross functionally across Scout internal functions, and suppliers to set design direction, and lead development, packaging, and execution of unique Scout components to develop creative and feasible designs that meet both aesthetic and functional requirements.
• Ensure all program targets, including Piece Cost, Investment, ED&D Budget, Timing, Weight, and Quality, are met. 
• Contribute to the development of product specification books, test plans, DVP&R, DFMEA, Control Plans, and Quality Assurance requirements.
• Direct design and analysis groups to create 3D math models/Computer Aided Design(CAD), complete 3D packaging, and validate with analytical models (FEA, CFD, Crash, etc.) to fulfill functional and design requirements, and ensure compatibility, using Design Rules, Regulatory items, and attributes, such as NVH, water management, craftsmanship, etc.
• Ensure all exterior components meet global safety regulations and work within defined manufacturing processes such as injection molding, painting and assembly.
• Be a key member and decision maker within the technical leadership team and liaison with all Scout functional teams.
• Develop and maintain all component and subsystem requirements and specifications, including device transmittals and interface control documents (ICD).
• Track open issues and collaborate with other functional groups as needed to drive issues to resolution efficiently and effectively.
• Ensure on-time validation and adequate testing coverage for all requirements (component, system, and vehicle) is achieved and traceability is maintained for assigned systems and components.
• Conduct product evaluation and design reviews during prototype and pre-production development phases.
• Develop prototypes for virtual and physical verification testing, including field testing.
• Lead development and execution of exterior components including close collaboration with tool shops, suppliers to support tooling design build, debugging, and production readiness.
• Support product launches and post-launch activities by troubleshooting fit, finish, manufacturing concerns, while driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost and design robustness.
• Proactively stay attuned to new advancements, market trends, consumer experience and propose system improvements accordingly.
• Follow automotive industry design best practices, such as: Robust Engineering, Design for Manufacturability, and Design for Serviceability.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or relevant engineering field.
• Demonstrated experience in solving complex technical challenges in product design and development.
• Computer aided design (CAD) tools, including CATIA V5/V6 experience is highly recommended.
• Product lifecycle management (PLM) tools, including Teamcenter experience is highly recommended, VW Toolbase a plus.
• Computer aided engineering (CAE) awareness and/or direct experience.
• An ability to build strong working relationships with people across all organizational levels.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), material selection, and design for manufacturing (DFM).
• Hands-on experience in automotive product launch, including prototype builds and production ramp-up.

Position Summary
The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will support the design, development, verification, and long-term sustainment of embedded software solutions for aerospace electrical power systems. This role is responsible for participating throughout the full software development lifecycle, including requirements development, coding, debugging, validation, and certification support activities. The engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop reliable, safety-critical software solutions for military and aerospace applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of embedded software development, from requirements definition through integration, verification, and maintenance.
• Develop, review, and maintain software requirements and ensure proper traceability throughout the development lifecycle.
• Design, implement, and review embedded software written primarily in C for microcontroller-based systems.
• Perform debugging and troubleshooting activities within embedded target environments and simulation platforms.
• Investigate software anomalies and perform root cause analysis for reported issues and failures.
• Utilize development and analysis tools to evaluate software performance, including timing analysis, memory utilization, stack usage, and structural coverage metrics.
• Develop and support software verification strategies aligned with program and certification requirements.
• Assist in resolving verification and validation issues identified during software testing activities.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in embedded software engineering and development.
• Strong understanding of embedded microcontroller architectures and low-level software operation.
• Experience developing software in regulated or safety-critical environments using standards such as DO-178 or IEC 61508.
• Advanced proficiency in C programming for embedded applications.
• Experience using version control systems and collaborative software development practices.
• Familiarity with lifecycle management and application lifecycle tools supporting requirements management, traceability, verification, validation, and issue tracking.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills within embedded systems environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to support long-duration development programs and evolving technical requirements over multiple project phases.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.

Salary Range: $140,000 - $150,000

We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Exterior Lighting Engineer to lead the design, development, and validation of advanced exterior lighting systems for next-generation aircraft. This role will focus on delivering reliable, compliant, and high-performance lighting solutions across a range of platforms, including conventional and electric aircraft.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with aircraft lighting systems and a strong understanding of environmental, electrical, and regulatory considerations.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop aircraft exterior lighting systems, including:

Navigation (position) lights

Anti-collision lighting

Landing and taxi lights

Recognition and logo lighting

Perform and document engineering analyses, including:

Electrical load and power consumption assessments

Thermal performance and heat dissipation analysis

Environmental durability (vibration, temperature extremes, moisture exposure)

Support system integration activities and ensure compatibility with aircraft electrical and structural systems

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, and certification engineering
