Your role as Investment Lab Associate

As the first hire into our newly formed Investment Portfolio Lab, a central team that sits at the intersection of investment thinking, strategic communication, and business development execution, you will own the end-to-end process of producing investment analysis and client-facing materials (deep portfolio analysis and clear optimization proposals) that support Heritage's business development across all group jurisdictions.

You will act as the connective tissue between Portfolio Management, Strategy, and Client-facing teams, ensuring every pitch, presentation, and portfolio review reflects the quality our clients expect.

Core Responsabilities Include

• Client materials & storytelling: Own the production of high-quality presentation decks, translating complex investment analysis into clear, compelling narratives for UHNWI prospects and existing clients.
• Project management & coordination: Act as project manager for each pitch or portfolio review, defining timelines, aligning stakeholders, managing inputs, and ensuring delivery across multiple concurrent workstreams.
• Portfolio analysis & optimisation: under the guidance of portfolio managers, lead analysis of existing and prospective client portfolios across asset classes, custodians, and jurisdictions. Develop allocation optimisation proposals and build a rigorous, repeatable analytical framework.
• Team building: As Lab founder, contribute to defining the operating model, processes, and culture and over time help identify, onboard, and mentor junior members.

Key Requirements

• Outstanding academic background Master's in Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline; CFA Level I or above is a strong plus, CAIA is highly valued
• 5–10 years of experience in MBB/Tier 2 strategy consulting (with a financial services focus), investment banking (Coverage/M&A), or private banking/wealth management
• Demonstrable track record of producing highly customised PowerPoint documents, pitch books, portfolio reviews, investment proposals, to a high standard of both analytical rigour and visual storytelling
• Proven ability to analyse multi-asset portfolios including alternative and illiquid asset classes (private equity, private credit, real assets, hedge funds)
• Advanced PowerPoint and strong Excel skills; familiarity with Bloomberg or equivalent is a plus
• Exceptional storytelling ability: turning complex portfolio analysis into simple, compelling narratives that sophisticated clients can act on
• Strong project management under pressure: running multiple workstreams, managing upward and laterally, delivering on time without sacrificing quality

Your role 

We are looking for a Reporting Intern to join our team. The Reporting Intern supports wealth-reporting activities by manually loading transactions and valuations, ensuring data accuracy and reconciliation. The role collaborates with the Tech Team during data-integration phases with Addepar and contributes to building basic formulas and attributes.

Core responsibilities include:

• Manual loading of transactions and valuations into Addepar, ensuring data accuracy and consistency with financial documentation
• Support reconciliation activities, including verification and balancing of uploaded data
• Collaborate with the Tech Team during the integration process between banks and Addepar (often lengthy, especially with banks not yet integrated)
• Enter historical transactions prior to a new client’s connection and monitor/adjust online-bank transactions even in an integrated setup
• Support the creation of basic formulas and attributes in Addepar (no programming required)

The Mission:

Scalapay is a regulated Payment Institution providing Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) services across European markets. As a fast-growing fintech operating under strict compliance requirements (DORA, PCI-DSS, GDPR), we serve millions of customers and thousands of merchants across Italy, France, and other European countries.

The Director of Payments will lead Scalapay's payment strategy and commercial operations, driving optimization across our multi-processor payment infrastructure and banking relationships. Reporting to the CTO and have a matrix reporting relationship to the CEO of Scalapay IP (our regulated entity), this role will focus on payment economics, vendor negotiations, and strategic partnerships while collaborating closely with the Payment Domain engineering team. This is a strategic and commercial role focused on maximizing payment performance, minimizing costs, and building the financial infrastructure to support our consumer lending expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

Payment Strategy & Economics

• Define and execute payment strategy to maximize authorization rates while minimizing costs
• Own payment economics including processor fees, interchange optimization, and cost attribution
• Develop business cases and ROI analysis for payment initiatives and infrastructure investments
• Lead strategic decisions on payment routing, processor selection, and payment method expansion
• Drive payment performance analytics and KPI reporting to executive team
• Identify and evaluate emerging payment technologies and market opportunities

Commercial Management & Negotiations

• Lead commercial negotiations with payment processors on pricing, terms, and SLAs
• Manage payment vendor relationships and contract renewals
• Negotiate interchange fees, scheme fees, and processing rates
• Build business cases for processor additions, changes, or consolidations
• Drive cost optimization initiatives across payment stack (target: 5-10% reduction annually)
• Establish and manage payment vendor governance and performance reviews

Core Banking & Settlement Strategy

• Define merchant payout strategy leveraging SEPA rails and core banking platform
• Optimize settlement economics including timing, costs, and working capital impact
• Lead core banking platform vendor relationship and commercial optimization
• Support loan securitization from a payment and settlement infrastructure perspective
• Drive treasury efficiency through improved settlement processes and reconciliation
• Partner with Finance on payment operations P&L management

Banking Relationships & Infrastructure

• Build and maintain relationships with banking partners supporting SEPA operations
• Lead strategic decisions on banking infrastructure and correspondent banking relationships
• Support securitization facility requirements with robust payment reporting and operations
• Navigate EU banking ecosystem (TARGET2, EBA Clearing) for optimal payment execution
• Drive compliance with SEPA scheme rules and EU banking regulations
• Represent Scalapay in banking industry forums and with financial institution partners

Stakeholder Management & Leadership

• Partner with Product, Business, and Commercial teams on payment strategy alignment
• Provide regular updates to CTO and executive team on payment performance and commercial opportunities
• Represent payment function in board and investor discussions
• Lead cross-functional initiatives requiring payment expertise (e.g., securitization, market expansion)
• Communicate complex payment economics and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
• Build internal knowledge and capability around payment operations and economics

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 10+ years in payments, fintech, or financial services with progressive responsibility
• 5+ years in strategic/commercial payment roles (payment strategy, vendor management, business development)
• Proven track record leading commercial negotiations with payment processors and banking partners
• Experience managing multi-million dollar payment budgets and P&L responsibility
• Direct experience with regulated financial services environments (Payment Institution, Bank, EMI)
• History of driving payment optimization and cost reduction initiatives
• Experience supporting securitization or asset-backed lending operations (preferred)
• Background in strategy consulting, investment banking, or corporate development (bonus)

Commercial & Strategic Expertise

• Deep understanding of payment economics including interchange, scheme fees, and processing costs
• Expert knowledge of payment processor commercial models and pricing structures

Your Role as Customer Success Specialist

Your Role

As an Investment Analyst, you will support the full investment lifecycle and work closely with the investment team to source, evaluate, and execute opportunities across Buyout, Growth, and Venture Capital.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Sourcing new opportunities and building relationships with entrepreneurs, fund managers, and ecosystem partners
• Supporting market, financial, and commercial due diligence
• Building financial models and contributing to investment memoranda
• Conducting thematic market research and developing investment theses
• Assisting with portfolio monitoring and follow-up analysis
• Supporting internal initiatives such as fund strategy, LP reporting
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams across the firm

This is a high-ownership role with substantial exposure to both internal leadership and external stakeholders.

About You

• Up to 2 years of experience in fund-of-funds investing, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, consulting, or a high-growth startup
• Strong academic background in finance, economics, engineering, business, or another analytical field
• Solid analytical and financial modelling skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with strong ownership
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Preqin, PitchBook, or similar tools is a plus
• Passion for investing and private markets
