We're hiring an Applied AI & Analytics Associate to sit inside the Office of the CEO. This is not a support role. This is not a reporting role. This is a problem-solving role — one where you'll work directly alongside the VP, Chief of Staff to the CEO and senior leaders across the company to crack open the problems that matter most and turn them into decisions that drive the business forward.

What You'll Actually Do

You will be an analytics and AI professional embedded in the Office of the CEO, contributing to high-impact analytical work across the company and contributing to how SharkNinja uses data and AI to make better decisions.

This is not a single-team support role. You'll move across functions — working with product, operations, finance, supply chain, marketing — on whatever problems matter most to the business right now.

On any given week, you might:

• Partner with the VP and Chief of Staff on analytical questions that require structured problem-framing, data modeling, or clear recommendations
• Contribute to multi-week analytical initiatives from scoping through delivery, working with senior stakeholders on managing expectations and timelines
• Build and maintain dashboards, decision-support tools, and analytical models that help senior leaders operate more effectively
• Use LLMs, AI automation, or machine learning to accelerate your own analysis and help other teams do the same
• Identify gaps in how the company tracks performance and propose practical improvements in collaboration with finance, operations, and product teams
• Work with teams to adopt analytical approaches or tools, contributing to broader adoption and impact
• Introduce better analytical methods and tools to raise the quality and consistency of output across teams
• Communicate findings clearly to senior stakeholders — translating complex analysis into straightforward recommendations that connect to business outcomes
• Connect the dots between data from multiple functions to surface insights no single team could see on their own
• Help support and review work from junior analysts or co-ops, contributing to their development

This is a hands-on role based in our Miami office with real ownership over analytical delivery and measurable business impact. You will work on complex problems with appropriate support from senior stakeholders and produce high-quality work.

What It Takes to Win Here

Must Have:

• 2+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or consulting with a demonstrated track record of analytical delivery
• Hands-on experience deploying or building with LLMs, generative AI, or automation tools — not just familiarity, but practical usage in real work
• Strong working command of SQL and Python — you pull and manipulate data directly and can build scalable analytical solutions
• Proficiency building dashboards and analytical tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar)
• Clear communication skills — you can present findings to senior stakeholders and explain complex analysis in plain language
• Demonstrated ability to take an ambiguous business question and structure a complete analytical approach
• Experience managing multiple workstreams and delivering against timelines with limited oversight
• Previous project or program management experience — managing scope, timelines, and cross-functional coordination
• Understanding of impact orientation — you connect your analytical work to business results and can articulate what changed because of your analysis
• Experience contributing to adoption — you've worked on building or improving a tool, process, or approach that a team has used; you're learning what it takes to drive change

Even Better If You Have:

• Background in consumer products, retail, or e-commerce — you understand margin dynamics, go-to-market, and how these businesses scale
• Experience with advanced statistical methods — experimentation, time-series analysis, or applied ML
• Hands-on experience with large-scale data infrastructure — designing data pipelines, working with modern cloud platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks)
• Prior exposure to working alongside executive or senior leadership teams
• Experience identifying and solving systemic problems — moving beyond answering a single question to fixing how a team or function operates

Tools & Stack

• Languages: SQL, Python (strong proficiency); R, Scala, or equivalent a plus
• BI & Visualization: Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar — deep proficiency in at least one platform
• Data Platforms: Hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks)
• AI & Automation: Production experience with LLMs, generative AI, or automation tools — not just familiarity, but deployed solutions

We are looking for a Staff Engineer to join our platform team as a technical anchor, ensuring our systems remain scalable and flexible as we maintain sustainable growth and innovation in the countries where we currently operate, while also launching into new international markets. You will play a vital role in evolving the architecture of one of our most complex and strategic products.

You will operate within a high-impact triad alongside Product and Management, focusing on long-term technical strategy and system health. As a hands-on technical leader, you will challenge the status quo, propose innovation and solve deep architectural problems, mentor and become a technical reference for our engineering team. Your work will directly enable millions of customers to access financial products via credit card worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the long-term vision and strategy for the global architecture of the core credit card platform, ensuring exponential scalability and continuous evolution capability.
• Lead the strategic partnership with Product and Business leadership (C-level and VPs) to shape the medium and long-term technical roadmap and define the strategic OKRs and global impact KPIs.
• Act as a technical and cultural reference, defining the highest standards of engineering excellence, mentoring other Architects and Principal/Staff Engineers, and fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
• Lead and resolve the most ambitious and high-risk technical challenges, intervening in critical performance or resilience bottlenecks and driving technical execution for solutions with multi-system and multi-country impact.
• Design and oversee the execution of complex system transformations (e.g., core banking migrations, replacement of legacy platforms) ensuring regulatory compliance in multiple jurisdictions and fiscal regimes, proactively mitigating risks.
• Communicate and defend the technical strategy eloquently and convincingly to the executive board and non-technical audiences, translating architecture decisions into business value and competitive advantage.

Required Qualifications

• Principal/Staff Engineer level experience or equivalent with an extensive and demonstrable history in architecting and scaling mission-critical, high-volume, and low-latency systems in global fintech or e-commerce environments.
• Expert proficiency (demonstrated in code and design) in multiple programming paradigms, with significant hands-on experience in functional programming (e.g., Clojure, Scala, Haskell) and reactive/event-based architectures.
• Proven ability to establish and lead the long-term technical strategy for entire platform ecosystems (not just isolated components), influencing the direction of multiple engineering groups.
• Deep and successful experience in navigating and defining the architecture in highly regulated financial environments (e.g., BACEN, FCA, SOX) and designing systems to meet data residency requirements and complex cross-border transactions.
• History of successfully leading and completing large-scale platform transformations (e.g., transition from monoliths to microservices mesh, migration of data centers or clouds), managing risks and operational impact.
• In-depth knowledge of credit card/payment systems design is a significant differential.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Clojure or similar functional languages.
• Proven interest or experience in leveraging AI to optimize engineering workflows.
• Deep domain knowledge of credit card processing or financial ledgers.

This role is based on a hybrid model at one of our Nubank offices in Brazil (São Paulo, Campinas, Rio de Janeiro, or Belo Horizonte), the United States (Palo Alto, Durham, Washington D.C. or Miami), or Canada (Toronto).

Location-Specific Disclosures

Total compensation includes base salary, RSUs and benefits.
Toronto base salary range (CAD): $192.000 - $288.000
Palo Alto base salary range (USD): $230.400 - $288.000

We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic problem-solver who excels at building scalable data systems and has hands-on experience with Databricks, Looker, AWS, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Terraform. You will work alongside sales, customer success and engineering to design, implement, and maintain the operational data infrastructure that powers our analytics and platform offerings.

What you'll do:

1. Data Pipeline & Integration
• Design, build, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines using Databricks (SparkSQL, PySpark) for data ingestion, transformation, and processing.
• Integrate data from various structured and unstructured sources, including medical imaging systems, EMRs, Change-Data-Capture from SQL Databases, and external APIs.
2. Analytics & Visualization
• Collaborate with the analytics team to create, optimize, and maintain dashboards in Looker.
• Implement best practices in data modeling and visualization for operational efficiency.
3. Cloud Infrastructure
• Deploy and manage cloud-based solutions on AWS (e.g., S3, EMR, Lambda, EC2) to ensure scalability, availability, and cost-efficiency using IaC tooling (Terraform and Databricks Asset Bundles).
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data-related services and applications.
4. Database Management
• Oversee MongoDB and PostgreSQL databases, including schema design, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Ensure data integrity, availability, and optimized querying for both transactional and analytical workloads.
5. Security & Compliance
• Adhere to healthcare compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA) and best practices for data privacy and security.
• Implement error handling, logging, and monitoring frameworks to ensure reliability and transparency.
• Implement data governance frameworks to maintain data integrity and confidentiality.
6. Collaboration & Documentation
• Work cross-functionally with data scientists, product managers, and other engineering teams to gather requirements and define data workflows.
• Document data pipelines, system architecture, and processes for internal and external stakeholders.

About you:

• Education & Experience
• 7+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a similar role.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Technical Skills
• Databricks (Spark): Proven expertise in building large-scale data pipelines.
• Looker: Experience in creating dashboards, data models, and self-service analytics solutions.
• AWS: Proficient with core services like S3, EMR, Lambda, IAM, EC2, etc.
• MongoDB & PostgreSQL: Demonstrated ability to design schemas, optimize queries, and manage high-volume databases.
• SQL & Scripting: Strong SQL skills, plus familiarity with Python, Scala, or Java for data-related tasks.

The base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000.  Our job postings cover multiple career levels and individual compensation will depend on various factors, including qualifications, skills, experience, location, and applicable laws. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive and competitive benefits plans.
