What you’ll do

As an analyst on the Payments Health Operations team you will be charged with monitoring and maintaining payments performance for Stripe’s largest users. This will include triaging, investigating, and responding to detected regressions in authentication and cost rates, providing in depth analysis of performance degradations, answering queries from our product support and technical account management team, and  engagement with users and other teams at Stripe to help ensure our users are maximizing their acceptance rates, and minimizing their costs and fraud.

You will work at the core of Stripe's platform, ensuring the reliability of our payments stack and the health of the broader ecosystem. Technical Operations roles in Payments are a dynamic and key component of Stripe's success. Responsibilities

• Monitor authorization rates and performance for large users, responding to alerts of degradation, triaging and investigating the cause, and communicating your findings to the account team, banking partners, and card networks. 
• Analyze cost checkers to ensure our cost models accuracy.
• Respond to performance inquiries from technical account managers, product support teams, and other internal stripe teams.

Requirements

• 12+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with depth in areas such as intelligent workflows, enterprise scale AI adoption, automation, or data engineering.
• Proven track record of leading large scale, multi team technical initiatives from conception to production, including solving ambiguous problems, setting technical vision, and driving impact without direct authority.
• Strong architectural judgment and systems thinking, with the ability to balance short term delivery with long term sustainability, scalability, and operational excellence.
• Demonstrated ability to influence across teams and disciplines through technical leadership, collaboration, and sound decision making rather than formal authority.
• Experience mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar of an organization through design reviews, code reviews, and technical guidance.

The Mission

At Caylent, a Senior Machine Learning Engineer works as an integral part of a cross-functional delivery team to design and document machine learning solutions on the AWS cloud for our customers.  We are looking for someone that has a strong understanding of the various model types and tools, and can help our customers connect their business goals with the details of feature design, model training and inference.  You will develop solutions designed by an architect.

You will participate in daily standup meetings with your team and bi-weekly agile ceremonies with the customer.  Your manager will have a weekly 1:1 with you to help guide you in your career and make the most of your time at Caylent.

Your Assignments

• Work with a team to deliver machine learning solutions on AWS for customers
• Participate in and contribute to daily standup meetings
• Develop and implement ML models, MLOps, and analytics
• Big data processing and preparation of training data for models

Your Qualifications

• Strong experience in building ML models for real world applications
• Strong experience in at least one of these:
• AWS ML Services/SageMaker
• ML libraries like Keras, Tensorflow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn
• MLOps tools such as MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow
• Advanced analytics using time series forecasting and/or inferential statistics
• Strong experience in one or more of these data processing solutions:
• Big data processing platforms like Spark, Hadoop, or streaming platforms
