About the Role

We’re hiring a Lead Product Designer to lead design outcomes and people across a complex product domain at ROLLER.

This is a hands-on leadership role that blends high-quality design execution, people leadership, and strategic influence. You’ll be accountable for the impact, consistency, and quality of design work in your domain  and for growing the designers within it.

You’ll partner closely with Product and Engineering leadership to shape vision, guide teams through ambiguity, and ensure we’re solving the right problems for our customers and our business. This role has meaningful scope, autonomy, and influence, with clear ownership and room to lead.

What You'll Do

Design Leadership & Craft

• Partner with the Director of Product Design to shape and evolve ROLLER’s design vision in a fast-moving, scaling environment.
• Own design strategy and execution across a complex product domain or multiple high-impact initiatives, with a bias toward shipping, learning, and iteration.
• Set and uphold a high bar for usability, accessibility, coherence, and craft, without letting perfection block progress.
• Apply systems thinking to identify patterns, gaps, and opportunities across end-to-end experiences as the product surface area grows.
• Lead the creation of frameworks, flows, and high-fidelity solutions that are designed to ship, be tested in the real world, and improve over time.
• Explore and articulate product visions that balance ambition with pragmatism and align to clear customer and business outcomes.
• Make strong design judgements that optimise for impact, speed, and long-term value over process or ceremony.

People Leadership & Team Growth

• Lead, coach, and support a team of Product Designers in an environment where learning comes from delivery and feedback, not theory alone.
• Run effective 1:1s, provide clear and actionable feedback, and support individual growth through real ownership and responsibility.

Research, Testing & Insight

• Guide discovery efforts and coach designers to use research as a tool for direction, not delay.
• Ensure research leads to clear problem definitions, decisions, and shipped outcomes.
• Lead and contribute to the evolution of our design system, content strategy, and accessibility practices in ways that support speed and consistency at scale.
• Improve design processes, rituals, and documentation to help the team move faster as we grow.

About You

Why This Role Matters

As a Platform Tech Lead at ROLLER, you will play a key role in guiding engineers within our Platform squad, partnering closely with the Product Manager and Designer as part of the Product Trio to deliver high-quality, scalable platform capabilities that enable engineers across the company.

In this role, you will combine strong technical leadership with hands-on engineering, contributing directly to the codebase while helping shape the technical direction of the platform. The Platform team focuses on building the foundations that empower product teams, improve developer velocity, and unlock impact across the entire engineering organisation. What You'll Do

• Lead and Coach: Provide day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to the engineers in your squad, ensuring they grow and succeed in their roles.
• Own Squad Delivery: Collaborate within the Trio to prioritise work, manage technical scope, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery of product outcomes.
• Be Hands-On: Actively contribute to the codebase, designing, building, reviewing, and deploying features, primarily using C#, T-SQL/SQL Server, and AWS.

As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll lead end-to-end design for your product area, turning complex problems into intuitive, scalable and engaging solutions. You’ll collaborate closely with Product and Engineering, mentor junior designers, contribute to critiques and help evolve KICK’s design systems. You’ll champion human-centered, data-informed design, push creative boundaries and ensure every interaction reflects KICK’s vision and brand.

What you will do:

• Lead end-to-end design for your product area, from research and ideation to prototyping, UI design and delivery.
• Translate complex requirements into engaging, user-focused solutions while upholding high visual and interaction standards consistent with KICK’s design system and brand.
• Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure seamless handoff, implementation and QA, applying systems thinking to create scalable, reusable components.
• Run or participate in user testing, concept validation and feedback sessions, turning insights into actionable, data-informed design decisions that balance user needs and business goals.
• Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering and other Designers to shape roadmap priorities, define success and present work clearly to build stakeholder alignment and confidence.
• Contribute to cross-team critiques, provide constructive feedback, document design decisions and patterns and elevate the work of peers.
• Mentor mid-level and junior designers, offering guidance, feedback and encouragement to support growth.
• Embrace experimentation and innovation, pushing the boundaries of interface design in streaming and interactive entertainment.
• Foster an inclusive, curious and collaborative environment where ideas can thrive.

What you will bring:

• 5+ years’ experience in product design, ideally within a tech, entertainment or streaming environment.
• Proven ability to design and deliver exceptional digital products end-to-end.
• Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in UX/ UI interaction design.
• Experience designing for omnichannel environments, including mobile and TV apps is a strong advantage.
• Interest or knowledge in streaming, gaming or emerging technologies such as AI
• Strong communicator who can clearly articulate design decisions and rationale.
• Analytical and strategic mindset, able to connect design work to business and product outcomes.
• Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple projects and priorities.

• Translate complex requirements into engaging user-focused solutions.
• Uphold a high standard of visual and interaction design, ensuring consistency with KICK’s design system and brand identity.
• Conduct or collaborate on user research, competitive analysis and usability testing to validate design hypotheses.
• Translate user insights and business requirements into actionable design decisions that enhance engagement, reduce friction, and drive measurable outcomes.
• Present design work confidently to cross-functional stakeholders and executive leadership, communicating rationale, trade-offs and expected impact with clarity and conviction.

• 10+ years of experience in product design, with proven end-to-end ownership of design projects.
• Interest or knowledge in streaming, gaming, or emerging technologies such as AI

• High-quality UX and UI craft with accessibility best practices (WCAG 2.1 AA)
• Strong communicator who can clearly articulate design decisions and rationale.
• Analytical and strategic mindset, able to connect design work to business and product outcome through relevant metrics in which you will perform a role in defining.
• Expert proficiency in Figma, with strong responsive web design expertise.
• Proven experience with developer handoff including detailed specifications, redlines and comprehensive documentation.
