Data Engineer: Drive our AI Revolution & Data Ecosystem
Location: Madrid (Hybrid: 4 days office / 1 day WFH)
Stack: Python, SQL, Airflow, dbt, DuckDB, GCP, DLT, Docker.

Your Cutting-Edge Toolkit:
- Orchestration: Airflow (Cloud Composer) is our backbone.
- Cloud Power: The full GCP suite (GKE, Cloud Run, Functions, Artifact Registry).
- Smart Ingestion: We leverage DLT (Data Load Tool) to build seamless and scalable data pipelines.
- Modeling & Quality: We use dbt at scale, integrating DuckDB to enforce bulletproof Data Contracts.
- DevOps Culture: Dockerized environments and solid CI/CD are our standard in Github Actions.
What You'll Do
- Architect & Innovate: Design, deploy, and evolve ELT/ETL pipelines from diverse sources (APIs, transactional DBs, file-based endpoints).
- Champion AI/ML: Actively contribute to building the infrastructure for ML models and LLM-powered Agents.
- Business Partnership: Work closely with stakeholders to identify high-impact opportunities. If you see a better way to do things, you have the autonomy to lead it.
- Engineering Excellence: Apply top-tier software practices (SDLC, RFCs, unit testing) to ensure our platform is a benchmark for scalability.

About You
You’ll be a great fit if:
- Python & SQL Mastery: You have a deep command of both (+5 years of experience).
- Agile Problem Solver: You thrive on unexpected daily challenges, delivering smart technical solutions at speed and iterating them into robust, production-grade systems. 🚀
- Business Partner: You are proactive and "business-curious", you want to understand the impact of your code on the bottom line.
- You are fluent in English (we are a global team!).
Bonus Points:
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, Vector Databases, or AI Agents.
- Deep knowledge of DuckDB or DLT.
- Strong foundations in Dimensional Modeling and Data Warehousing.
- Spanish language skills (a plus for office life in Madrid!).

You won't just write queries; you will architect the semantic layer of our data warehouse, ensuring that every dashboard, AI model, and executive decision is built on a foundation of trust.
This is a high-impact Individual Contributor role for a builder who loves SQL, obsesses over data modeling, and wants to solve complex problems at a global scale.

What You’ll Build & Own

The Gold Layer: Design and maintain clean, reusable, and documented data marts in BigQuery that serve as the single source of truth for the company.

Pipeline Orchestration: Build robust ELT pipelines using Airflow or Keboola. If a pipeline fails at 3 AM, your code is resilient enough to handle it.

Performance Engineering: Optimize SQL for massive scale. You understand clustering, partitioning, and execution plans to ensure we process petabytes without burning the budget.

Data Governance: Implement automated testing (dbt-style checks) to catch data drift before it hits the dashboard.

Senior Analytics Engineer - Treasury & Exposure Management
Location: Madrid/Malaga (Hybrid: 4 days office / 1 day WFH)
We are looking for an Analytics Engineer to be embedded within the Treasury & Exposure domain. At Ebury, we are in the process of descentralising our models (Data mesh), empowering domains to deliver high-impact data products autonomously.
You will build the semantic layer that provides the context and definitions necessary for AI agents and stakeholders to leverage data effectively.
In Ebury we operate under a Domain-Driven Design (DDD) approach where Product, Tech, and Data align on shared goals to eliminate bottlenecks and ensure architectural alignment.
What you will do:
- Partner with the business to gather requirements and define technical action plans for robust data products.
- Lead projects from initial definition to delivery, including strategies for stakeholder (impact and testing)
- Ability to split between strategic management and technical execution; you are equally comfortable architecting a multi-domain roadmap as you are diving into the IDE to ship a critical fix
- Proactively monitor and govern data products to ensure high reliability. You will design and propose ongoing alerting frameworks to catch anomalies before they reach the business.
- Deliver hands-on data models using modern software engineering practices (version control, testing, and CI/CD).
- Collaborate with team members to reinforce best practices across the platform, encouraging a shared commitment to quality.
- Manage overall pipeline orchestration using Airflow (hosted in Cloud Composer).
- Contribute to and promote best practices for query development, version control, code review, documentation, and testing
What we’re looking for:
- 4+ years experience in similar roles, solid analytics engineering background — dbt, SQL, data modeling, and a strong sense of what makes a data product trustworthy and maintainable.
- High proficiency in SQL with the ability to build, robustly test, and optimize complex models.
- A strong sense of what makes a data product trustworthy, maintainable, and valuable to the end user.
- Finance domain knowledge, you understand how financial data works: P&L, FX, exposure, reconciliation.
- Experience with (or a genuine curiosity for) Domain-Driven Design and how it shapes team ownership and data structure.
- Fluency in English (Spanish is a plus).
