Job Title: Adult Neuro Rehab Speech and Language Therapist

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Adult Neuro Rehabilitation Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist neurological centre in Gloucester. This is a permanent opportunity within a 60-bed service providing dedicated support for individuals with complex, long-term neurological conditions requiring ongoing rehabilitation and care.
The centre delivers 24-hour nursing and therapy input, with a strong focus on slow-stream neuro rehabilitation. The emphasis is on maximising each individual’s functional abilities, comfort, and overall quality of life through structured, person-centred therapeutic input.
This role would suit a Band 6 or Band 7 clinician with experience in neuro rehabilitation who is passionate about long-term rehabilitation and multidisciplinary working. Sponsorship is available for eligible candidates.
In this role, you will:
• Provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for adults with complex neurological conditions.
• Deliver individualised rehabilitation programmes focused on communication and swallowing needs.
• Contribute to slow-stream neuro rehabilitation pathways, supporting long-term functional improvement and quality of life.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and psychology colleagues.
• Assess and manage complex dysphagia and communication impairments.
• Support goal setting that is realistic, person-centred, and focused on maximising independence and ability.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with professional and organisational standards.
• Contribute to ongoing care planning and multidisciplinary reviews.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
• A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
• HCPC registration and eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
• Experience working within adult neuro rehabilitation services.
• Strong skills in managing complex communication and swallowing disorders.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams in rehabilitation settings.
• Band 7 level experience is desirable, but strong Band 6 candidates will be considered.

In this role, you will:

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with professional standards.

• A recognised professional qualification as a Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, or Nurse.
• Relevant professional registration (HCPC or NMC where applicable).
