About the role

In partnership with SBI Group, we are building a next-generation decentralized exchange (DEX) aimed at bringing the majority of Japanese equities on-chain. Our goal is to create a secure, transparent, and high-performance trading infrastructure capable of supporting institutional volumes while remaining accessible to retail participants. The platform features a fully on-chain order book and is powered by a custom state transition function and consensus layer, purpose-built for low-latency, high-throughput trading.

As the Senior QA Engineer, you will be the quality champion for this system and cover core trading flows, order book behavior, matching logic, and backend services powering execution. As the first senior-level QA on the team, you will own the end-to-end quality strategy with a strong emphasis on automation, ensuring the correctness, reliability, and performance of both API and E2E layers under real-world trading conditions.

This is a hands-on role focused on building robust E2E and API test coverage, not manual testing.

Key responsibilities

• Quality strategy & process: Define and evolve QA standards, release criteria, and quality metrics tailored to a trading platform. Establish best practices for validating execution accuracy, pricing, and API reliability.

Role Overview

As a Software Support Engineer (SSE) at ASM, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability of our software in customer environments and developing customer-specific solutions. You will work closely with field teams and customers to identify and resolve issues quickly, support host automation, and contribute to feature development based on customer specification

Key Responsibilities (in order of priority)

1. Customer Software Reliability

   • Rapidly identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues in customer environments.
   • Collaborate with field support engineers to manage escalations and ensure timely resolution.
   • Collect and analyze system data from field tools to support root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
   • Work with QA and support teams to document and replicate bugs for regression testing.

2. Customer-Specific Feature Development

   • Review and interpret customer specifications to support feature development and customization.
   • Assist in the design and implementation of small-scale features tailored to customer needs.
   • Provide technical feedback and clarification during specification and requirement discussions.

3. Field Support and Host Automation

   • Provide online support for host automation and interface-related issues.
   • Assist customers with software upgrades and qualification of new versions.
   • Act as the voice of the customer within internal teams, aligning priorities and expectations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., C++, C#).
• Ability to read and debug code using IDEs and debugging tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software troubleshooting and support.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Machine control software (especially for semiconductor equipment)
  • Windows and real-time operating systems
  • Multi-threaded and real-time applications
  • GUI development
  • Device drivers and interrupt-driven software
  • Networking, data communications, and EtherCAT
  • Complex scheduling algorithms and deadlock avoidance
  • Software development tools (e.g., debuggers, version control, build systems)
  • Understanding and translating software functionality across systems
  • Reading and interpreting software documentation, APIs, and interface specifications
