主な業務内容 

• クライアントや共同研究パートナーとの協働による量子アルゴリズム・アプリケーションの設計および開発 

• 各業界（金融、製造、物流、化学など）における量子コンピューティングのユースケース創出 

• データ分析、モデル開発、アルゴリズム実装を通じた実証実験およびソリューション提案 

• 海外チーム（米国ボストン本社など）との共同研究および技術的コミュニケーション 

応募資格 

• 応用数学、計算機科学、物理学、または関連分野の修士号または博士号、もしくは同等の実務経験 

• 量子機械学習、量子最適化、量子化学、または量子情報科学のいずれかの分野における専門的知識 

• 量子コンピューティングの基礎理論およびアルゴリズムに関する深い理解 

• Pythonを用いた開発スキル 

• 優れた英語および日本語でのコミュニケーション能力 

• 学際的・国際的なチームでの協働経験 

望ましいスキル・経験 

• 物流、金融、オペレーションズリサーチ、化学、バイオテクノロジー、工学、または機械学習などの分野での専門知識

We are seeking an experienced Field Applications Scientist who will play a pivotal role supporting our growing customer base in the APJ region. This is an incredible opportunity for someone who is passionate about seeing customer success and winning for the company. We are looking for candidates with a solid background in NGS sample and library prep workflows as well as cell biology. The hired candidate will need to be physically located in the Japan with a preference for Tokyo and be willing to travel frequently to customer sites. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Field Applications - APJ and will be a remote role.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Frequently traveling to the customer site is required
• Troubleshooting issues related to user's technical skills, biochemistry/assay design, experimental design, software, and instruments
• Supporting commercial team and customers in their technical applications and providing product training
• Displaying professionalism, understanding, tact, fairness, and technical knowledge in all customer interactions
• Providing strategic and competitive feedback to marketing and product development teams, and independently leads or manages beta tests at customer sites
• Working independently on significant and unique issues requiring collaboration with key decision-makers and senior managers across the organization which may impact future products, concepts, and technologies
• Assisting sales and marketing on pre and post strategic sales activities requiring both technical depth and market knowledge
• Delivering customer training and workshops, both in-person and remote
• Utilizing service CRM software to accurately identify and document customer opportunities
• Collaborating with internal partners to resolve customer issues and improve processes

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors degree with 4+ years, Masters degree with 2+ years or PhD with experience in NGS library construction (a combination of experience and education may be considered)
• Hands-on experience with cell culture and tissue handling required
• Experience with NGS sequencing instrument and sequencing run set up along with NGS sample and library prep workflows is preferred
• Experience with cell biology, microscopy, and multiomics is required
• Must be highly motivated and have strong problem-solving ability
• Excellent communication and strong relationship building skills
• Highly collaborative and adaptable; able to work well within multidisciplinary teams
• Skilled in nucleic acids and protein analytical methods
• Generate high quality and reproducible wet-lab data from established protocols
• High degree of comfort navigating technical project discussions
• Must be able to work independently and as a team player
• Demonstrated account management skills
• Fluent in English is a requirement

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently moves boxes weighing up to 20 pounds
• Must be flexible in working hours as this position may require customer support during non-regular business hours

Location:

• Remote – Japan required, Tokyo preferred 

Travel: 

• Domestic/International travel up to 80%

In addition to base compensation noted above, you will be eligible for stock options and sales commission.
