We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with expertise in GPU Infrastructure, Ubuntu operating systems, and automation to design, build, maintain, and optimize machine images across a variety of cloud platforms. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering standardized, secure, and high-performant images, including those deployed on GPU Bare Metal and GPU droplet (VM) images
You will focus on automating the image creation lifecycle, ensuring image integrity, and optimizing for performance and security. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in GPU infrastructure, automation, and test systems, along with a strong passion for building secure, scalable, and efficient machine images that power modern cloud-native applications and services.
What You’ll Do:
- Work with key stakeholders in packaging and continuously testing our GPU images across multiple platform services. This includes coordination with hardware engineering teams on packaging firmware versions and maintaining an active compatibility matrix of GPU drivers across Nvidia and AMD GPU platforms (H100/H200/MI300x/MI325x).
- Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain tooling and scripts (e.g., using HashiCorp Packer, Ansible, Terraform, Python, Shell scripting) to automate the creation, testing, and deployment of machine images.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure machine images adhere to security best practices, including hardening, patch management, and compliance with organizational and industry standards (e.g., CIS benchmarks, GDPR, HIPAA).
- Optimization: Optimize machine images for performance, size, and boot time to enhance scalability and reduce operational costs.
- CI/CD Integration: Integrate machine image creation into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI for automated builds and deployments.
- Versioning and Documentation: Maintain version control for machine images and document configurations, processes, and best practices.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Implement monitoring for image performance and troubleshoot issues related to image deployment and runtime in cloud environments.
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of advancements in cloud technologies, containerization, and image management tools to propose and implement improvements.
What You'll Add to DigitalOcean:
- Strong experience with building Linux operating system images.
- Solid understanding of GPU related infrastructure including NCCL, RCCL testing frameworks particularly in a fabric connected environment.
Hands-on experience building and managing machine images using tools like Packer, cloud-init, Ansible, Python, and shell scripting. - Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI) for automating image pipelines.
- Strong understanding of security practices in image building (e.g., CVE scanning, secrets management, system hardening).
- Experience in regulated environments (HIPAA, FedRAMP, SOC2, etc.)
- Knowledge of Immutable Infrastructure and Golden Image pipelines.
- Experience with configuration management tools like Chef or Puppet.
This is a hybrid role based in either Hyderabad or Bangalore(India), depending on the candidate's preference.

Position Overview:
We are seeking an inspired and motivated technical contributor to join the DigitalOcean Security Team as an Infrastructure Security Engineer. You will report to the Security Engineering Manager for the APAC region and will be a key member of DigitalOcean’s security team. In this role, you will play an essential part in enhancing DigitalOcean's security posture. This includes collaborating with various Engineering and Security teams to:
- Design and implement infrastructure security solutions at scale
- Identify and mitigate security issues, vulnerabilities, and misconfigurations for both internal users and customers

- Ownership and management of preventative security measures and services such as WAF, SIEM and similar security solutions.
- Consistently improving security as the company scales, driving continuous improvement through data collection and correlation, being mindful that security should be an efficiency enabler for the business, not a detractor
What You’ll Add to DigitalOcean:
- 5+ years of experience in cloud and infrastructure security, with hands-on expertise in building automated detection and remediation workflows, enforcing security policies, hardening container and Kubernetes environments, and managing security monitoring across Linux-based, multi-cloud, and multi-tenant architectures.
- Vulnerability Management experience, focused on prioritizing known vulnerabilities for remediation at scale and classifying previously unknown vulnerabilities
- Strong understanding of Linux systems and common O/S hardening practices
- Hands-on experience with cloud service providers. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a core requirement, while familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a strong advantage. Focus areas include security issues and misconfigurations across cloud services, virtual machines, containers, and Kubernetes infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of systems in a multi-tenant, cloud environment

What You'll Do
- Collaborate with product, development and security teams to deliver solutions efficiently and securely.
- Design, deploy and manage scalable AWS cloud infrastructure, using advanced scripts and tools to ensure the implementation of infrastructure as code (using Terraform, CloudFormation or AWS CDK).
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and deployment gating (CodePipeline, CodeBuild, Github Actions or Jenkins).

Who You Are
- 5 years of experience with cloud-related technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud with a bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a master’s degree.
- Expertise in programming in Python, Ruby, or Bash scripting languages.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD tools.
- AWS Professional Certification is a plus.
- Familiar with the provision and configuration using management tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible).
- Familiar with application monitoring tools like ELK, Splunk, or Datadog.

Who are we looking for?
- Masters/Bachelors degree required in Computer Science/Engineering, Software Engineering or Equivalent discipline.
- 5-10 years of total experience in Software Product Development organization(s)
- Proven work experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or similar role.
- Experience in responding to production incidents and taking on-call responsibilities
- Hands-on experience in owning and operating mission-critical, large-scale product operations like provisioning, deployment, upgrades, patching and incidents in Production on cloud.
- Should ensure high-availability and scalability of our Production software by working with engineering, wherever required.
- Must have working knowledge on AWS services like VPC, EC2, EKS S3 , IAM etc.

Position Overview:
We are looking for a SRE Architect who will work with technology experts to design optimal solutions to requirements for our customers. This is achieved through interactive requirements gathering, determination of best fit solutions based on problem solving approaches, integrated solution design based on multiple technology types, and a strong ability to present and articulate solutions to senior members of the customer teams.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Own the Infrastructure, APM and work with Developers and Systems engineers to Build, Release, Monitor and run the services reliability exceeding the agreed SLAs..
- Write software to automate API-driven tasks at scale and contribute to the product codebase in Java, JS, React, Node, Go and Python
- Write automation to reduce toil and eliminate manual tasks that are repeatable.
- Work with Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform or another config management / orchestration suite, know where it's broken, work towards fixing them and explore new alternatives
- Define and accelerate implementation of support processes, tools and best practices
- Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system reliability
- Handle cross team performance issues from identification of the cause, determining the areas of improvement and driving those actions to closure
- Performance and maturity baselining of Systems, tools maturity & coverage, metrics, technology and engineering practices
- Define, Measure and improve Reliability Metrics (SLO/SLI), Observability (Monitoring, Logging-Tracing solutions), Ops process (Incident, Problem Mgmt) and streamline – automate release management. Build dashboards to provide visibility into performance of the applications.
- Create chaos in the production environment purposefully in a controlled manager to validate reliability of systems.
- Mentor and coach other SREs in the organization
- Provide written and verbal updates to executives and the stakeholders of the application in the organization.
- Understand the current process, system setup and propose the improvements needed in the processes, and technology so that the application exceeds the desired Service Level Objective.

Must Have Skills:
The successful candidate will have the following attributes/qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in Development and Operations of applications/services in production that has uptime over 99.9%.
- 8+ years of experience as a SRE in handling applications that are web scale
- Strong hands-on coding experience in one or more programming languages such as Python, Golang, Java, Bash, etc.
- Good understanding of Observability (monitoring, logging, tracing, metrics), Chaos engineering concepts.
- Proficiency in using Observability tools (example: New Relic, Datadog, etc) for monitoring, logging, tracing.
- Expert level hands on knowledge in public cloud platform AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform. Professional level certificate on one of the public clouds is highly desirable.
- Must have hands-on experience in using configuration management systems such as Ansible or SaltStack and infrastructure automation tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Should have used altering systems such as Pager Duty.
- Should have implemented solutions around Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for services. Measurement should have been within a system and across systems in distributed systems
- Should have supported Production Incidents (PIs) on critical applications of a company. Troubleshoot, debug, and diagnose operational issues and drive them to closure.
- Understanding of software delivery life cycles, particularly Agile/Lean & DevOps
- Proven experience in handling large scale and growing infrastructure across Data Centers and heterogeneous Cloud platforms
- Experience as a service owner in managing large – geographically diverse stakeholders
- Ability to work with creative – fast growing engineering team and motivate them to deliver their best work
- History of driving innovation.
Good to Have Skills:
- Familiarity with handling:
- Containerization – Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher, etc
- Kafka, Yarn, ElasticSearch etc.
- Source code management and Implementation of Security best practices.
- Tech Stack - Python, Falcon, Elastic Search, MongoDB, AWS (SQS S3), Map Reduce.
- Networking knowledge
- Understanding of software delivery life cycles, particularly Agile/Lean & DevOps
- Contribution to open source community
Qualification:
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering, or a related technical degree.
