What you’ll do

As Staff Accountant on Giga’s Finance team, you will be a core contributor to the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. You’ll own key parts of the general ledger, drive a clean and efficient monthly close, and support the reporting that informs decisions at the highest levels of the company. This isn’t a seat-warming role — you’ll be working alongside a lean, high-performing team where your output is visible and your growth is real. We’re building financial infrastructure to match the pace of the business, and you’ll be a central part of making that happen. We are an in-office culture — velocity matters when you're building physical infrastructure, and the best decisions happen in the room. This role is ideally based in our San Francisco, Long Beach, or Houston offices, with full-time onsite expectations outside of bi-weekly WFH Fridays.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain assigned general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of journal entries on a monthly basis.
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process including preparation of accruals, prepaid amortization, and recurring journal entries.
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve variances in a timely manner.
• Assist in the preparation of internal financial statements and management reporting packages.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules including additions, disposals, depreciation, and reconciliation to the general ledger.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed, including coding, approvals, and cash application.
• Assist with sales tax filings, 1099 preparation, and other compliance obligations.
• Provide supporting documentation and schedules for external audits and tax preparation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and documentation standards.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and FP&A to ensure accurate financial data.

Requirements

• 2+ years of accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting principles.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close processes including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Proficiency with an ERP system (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do

In Tekmetric’s high-growth organization, the Senior General Ledger Accountant role will provide vital support in multi-entity accounting and reporting.  You will own critical areas of the month-end close and general ledger, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and continuous improvement in a multi-entity SaaS environment. Own Accruals & Financial Accuracy

• Develop a deep understanding of business operations to ensure accurate accruals and financial reporting
• Take ownership of key accrual areas (prepaids, expenses, etc.) and ensure proper recognition and documentation

Partner & Provide Financial Insight

• Partner with FP&A to align financials with forecasts and explain variances through meaningful flux analysis
• Translate financial results into clear insights that support business decision-making

Drive Process Improvement & Systems Optimization

• Proactively identify inefficiencies and implement scalable process improvements
• Leverage NetSuite and FloQast to automate workflows, enhance reporting, and improve close visibility
• Help define and standardize processes as the company continues to scale

Support Audit & Strategic Initiatives

• Own preparation of audit support, including reconciliations and documentation

ON.energy is seeking a Technical Accountant to support complex accounting matters related to renewable energy projects, energy storage assets, project financing structures, and corporate transactions. This role will work closely with finance, development, legal, and operations teams across the organization and will support accounting and financial reporting under U.S. GAAP.

The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting knowledge, experience working with U.S.-based companies or multinational organizations, and excellent analytical and documentation skills.

A significant portion of this role involves navigating different platforms, running multiple reports to research issues, and troubleshooting sync issues between systems. While this is an accounting position, a large amount of time is spent problem solving—tracking down transactions, reconciling data across systems, and identifying where issues originate. With the volume of data flowing between Nova’s various software programs, it is essential that the person in this role is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable learning new systems quickly.

Responsibilities:

• Own reconciliations across multiple entities and systems 

• Ensure alignment between billing, cash, and general ledger  

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies across systems 

• Maintain accurate general ledger and support month-end close  

• Perform cross-system reconciliations (accounting, billing, payroll, payments) 

• Monitor data integrity and troubleshoot system/data issues 

• Identify and resolve missing or misclassified transactions 

• Maintain balance sheet schedules and intercompany accounts 

• Review journal entries and support accounting workflows 

• Reconcile payroll, benefits, and related billing 

• Improve processes, controls, and documentation 

• Review work prepared by junior accountants 

• Collaborate with AR, tax, and other internal teams 

• Support audits, compliance reporting, and insurance renewals 

• Create and maintain written procedures  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance  

• 7 + years of accounting experience (multi-entity preferred) 

• Strong understanding of cash and accrual accounting 

• Advanced reconciliation and problem-solving skills  

• Experience reviewing work of junior staff 

• Experience in developing and maintaining procedures 

• Experience in small to mid-sized professional services firms 

• Excellent written and oral communication skills 

• Experience with S-corporations a plus 

• Experience with QuickBooks Online, ChargeOver (or other SAAS billing), and Bill.com a plus 

• Self-starter with strong ownership mindset and attention to detail 

Compensation and Benefits:

• Base Salary $100,000-$120,000
• Salaried, exempt

Work Location/Hours:

• Hybrid (3 days in office during training period, 1 day in office after training period)
