Scale AI is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mission Software Engineer to join our dynamic Federal Engineering team. As a part of this team, you will play a critical role in supporting Scale’s government customers by scoping and developing onsite solutions. Our scalable, high-performance platform is the foundation for these customer solutions, and your expertise will be instrumental in designing and implementing systems that can handle interactions with existing customer systems to help our products integrate into existing customer workflows.   

You will:

• Work directly with customers to understand their problems and translate those into features in Scale’s platform.

Ideally you have:

• Track record of success as a hybrid customer facing engineer, forward deployed software engineer, and ability to quickly adapt to different roles.
• Prior experience developing with Python and JavaScript, or other modern software languages. Familiarity with Node and React is a plus.
• Cloud-Native Technologies: Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience in developing and deploying applications in a cloud-native environment. Understanding of containerization (e.g., Docker) and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes) is a plus
• Linux experience: Understanding of shell scripting, operating systems, etc
• Networking experience: Understanding of networking technologies, configuration  (ports, protocols, etc)

Our Field Engineers ensure customers' experiences with Scale's technology are seamless and optimized to build a successful, long-term partnership. Field Engineers partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations to lead existing customers through building production-grade data pipelines. We do this by knowing our customer’s use-cases inside and out, and creating the tooling and documentation needed to scalably support their growth.

Field Engineers in general are experts on Scale's products and codebase, and have general technical knowledge on web development, using APIs, and working with large volumes of data. Field Engineers are strong relationship builders, great project managers, and always fun to work with.

The Role

As Virtru continues to scale globally, we are recruiting an experienced and cleared Senior Customer Success Manager for Indo-Pacific region to serve as the leader for our customer and partner-facing operations with government, technology, systems integrator, reseller, and delivery partners within the Global Public Sector.  If you are obsessed with harnessing technology solutions to advance capabilities for our global Defense & Intelligence customers and have mission experience and understanding within the Indo-Pacific region, this is the job for you. This is a pivotal customer and customer and partner engagement role responsible for driving customer success supporting our industry partners and government customers focused on DoW, Allied, and Coalition missions and capabilities spanning the Indo-Pacific region.  You will work closely with our solution architects, delivery teams, sales organization, and our engineering and product teams.

As Global Public Sector Senior Customer Success Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Lead customer focused workstreams and virtual teams with a clear focus on driving success for our government customers and industry partners
• Serve as the central connector internally between Solution Architects, Project Managers, Forward Deployed Engineers, and other Customer Success Managers
• Orchestrate Indo-Pacific partnerships within INDOPACOM industry sphere to accelerate customer adoption and scaling of Virtru solutions
• Manage the customer lifecycle: agreement, commitments, rhythm of business, leadership engagement, value creation
• Identify issues proactively and connect the right people and resources for rapid problem resolution and mission success
• Keep constant pulse on customer and partner health, satisfaction levels, and expansion opportunities
• Be part of the innovative discussions with our strategic customers learning about cutting edge technology in data sharing, data protection, and the AI space

Skills that will help you thrive in this role:

• Active US Top Secret / SCI clearance
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technology field such as IT, cyber security, computer science, or engineering (a Master’s degree in a technical field will set you apart) or equivalent business degree such as an MBA
• Willingness to travel (<25%) if located in Honolulu; <40% if located on US west coast
• Must excel at cross-functional collaboration and breaking down organizational silos
• Ability to work autonomously and collaborate with peers across multiple time zones
• Proven track record driving partner success and customer satisfaction in B2B software/SaaS or similar technology environments
• Strong ability to work cross-functionally with engineers, delivery teams, sales teams, commercial and government organizations
• Strong technical aptitude and comfortable understanding technical solutions and having informed conversations with technical stakeholders
• Strong communication skills - able to translate customer feedback into actionable insights for product and delivery teams
• Data-driven approach to measuring customer health, satisfaction, and expansion opportunities
• Previous start-up or high-growth company experience is a plus
• Prior government or military or defense industry experience is preferred

Required:

• 3+ in Windows desktop application development using Windows App SDK, WinUI (or similar), C#, XAML — and ideally additional experience with native Windows code (C++, Win32/WinRT/COM).
• Deep understanding of Windows application architecture, including interop between managed code (.NET) and native code.
• Proven track record of designing, building, and shipping production-quality desktop applications, with an emphasis on reliability, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Strong experience with accessibility APIs on Windows (e.g. Microsoft UI Automation or similar), and a dedication to building accessible and inclusive software.
• Excellent software engineering fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, memory management, multi-threading or asynchronous programming (where relevant).
• Experience leading technical design, mentoring other engineers, conducting code reviews, and making architecture-level decisions.
• Strong communication skills; ability to articulate tradeoffs, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive consensus.
• A user-centric mindset: focus on building polished, intuitive, and accessible experiences for end users.

Preferred / Bonus:

• Experience with writing automated tests for UI — unit tests, integration tests, UI automation tests; familiarity with relevant testing frameworks.
• Experience with performance optimization for desktop apps (memory usage, startup time, rendering performance, high-DPI support, responsiveness under load).
• Experience with localization/globalization, right-to-left UI support, internationalization, accessibility for multiple regions.
• Familiarity with telemetry, analytics, crash reporting, logging, and error monitoring in desktop applications.
• Previous experience in shaping CI/CD workflows, release pipelines, and deployment strategies for desktop applications.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of feature areas or modules and drive them long-term, including maintenance, refactoring, and technical debt management.

The United States Based Salary range for this role is: 140,000-200,000 USD/Year + Bonus + Stock depending on experience

• We are actively searching for Data Scientists, located in Hawaii, to support our team. We have varying levels of Data Scientist roles, depending on years of experience and education.
• Performs tasks associated with Big Data Platform management, utilizes skills in programming languages, develops prototype algorithms as well as algorithm refinements, and supports data visualization and analytics.  

What You Must Have:

• Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years of relevant experience OR Associates degree with 5 years of relevant experience 
• Bachelor’s Degree must be in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics Statistics, Applied Statistics, Machine learning, Data Science, Operations Research, or Computer Science or a degree in a related field (Computer Information Systems, Engineering), a degree in the physical/hard sciences (e.g. physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy), or other science disciplines with a substantial computational component (i.e. behavioral, social, or life) may be considered if it included a concentration of coursework (5 or more courses) in advanced Mathematics (typically 300 level or higher, such as linear algebra, probability and statistics, machine learning)  and/or computer science (e.g. algorithms, programming, , data structures, data mining, artificial intelligence).  College-level requirements, or upper-level math courses designated as elementary or basic do not count.  Note: A broader range of degrees will be considered if accompanied by a Certificate in Data Science from an accredited college/university.
• Relevant experience must be in designing/implementing machine learning, data science, advanced analytical algorithms, programming (skill in at least one high-level language (e.g., Python)), statistical analysis (e.g., variability, sampling error, inference, hypothesis testing, EDA, application of linear models), data management (e.g., data cleaning and transformation), data mining, data modeling and assessment, artificial intelligence, and/or software engineering. Experience in more than one area is strongly preferred
