You'll make architectural decisions, set engineering standards, manage external partners, and shape how the organisation thinks about digital experience as a growth lever. You'll get your hands dirty in code when it's high-stakes or foundational — but your primary value is judgment, strategic ownership, and accountability for outcomes.
The stack: Astro.js, TypeScript, Sanity (headless CMS), HubSpot, GTM, Google Analytics, Zendesk.
What you'll own
- End-to-end technical strategy for the marketing website — platform, architecture, and performance
- Website builds and redesigns from requirements through launch
- Conversion optimisation and experimentation infrastructure — enabling the growth team to move fast
- The website data layer — event architecture and tracking standards that feed broader BI
- Content infrastructure in Sanity — content models, reusable blocks, and COPE pipelines
- AI strategy for the site — evaluating where personalisation, dynamic content, and intelligent search can move the needle
- External partner management and build-vs-buy decisions
What we're looking for
- 12+ years of web development experience, with 5+ years at senior/principal level in B2B SaaS
- Deep expertise with Astro.js and Sanity (or Next.js + demonstrable Sanity depth)
- Proven track record leading major website projects with strategic and organisational implications
- Strong experience with A/B testing architecture, technical SEO, headless CMS, and the analytics/tracking layer
- Ability to communicate technical trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Practical, daily use of AI development tools (Cursor, Copilot, Claude, etc.)

Own the strategic direction of a high-performance B2B SaaS website — and set the standard for how marketing websites drive revenue.
We’re looking for a Principal Digital Experience Engineer to join our Marketing team in Helsinki, Dublin, Amsterdam, or the UK.
Our website is our most important marketing asset — it’s where pipeline starts, where brand perception is formed, and where every campaign and paid media dollar ultimately lands. We don’t need another strong engineer who can build things. We need a recognised authority who can decide what should be built, why, and how — someone who sets the technical strategy for our entire web presence and is accountable for the outcomes.
This is a Principal-level individual contributor role (IC5). You’ll make architectural decisions, define engineering standards, influence senior leadership, manage external partners, and shape how the organisation thinks about digital web experience as a growth lever. You can and will get your hands dirty in the code when it matters — but your primary value is strategic ownership, technical authority, and the judgment to know where your time creates the most leverage.
The stack: Astro.js, TypeScript, Sanity (headless CMS), integrated with HubSpot, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Zendesk.
The strategic responsibilities you’ll own…
- End-to-end technical strategy for the marketing website — platform, stack, infrastructure, and architecture decisions that you make and are accountable for at the organisational level
- Website builds and redesigns from strategy through launch — you define technical requirements, set engineering standards, oversee delivery, and ensure the final product meets performance, accessibility, and brand standards
- The technical foundation for conversion optimisation and experimentation — designing site architecture where A/B testing, personalisation, and rapid iteration are first-class capabilities. You enable the growth team to move fast; you’re not the person running the tests
- Site performance, Core Web Vitals, uptime, and technical SEO health — developing and documenting performance methodologies that become organisational standards
- The website data layer — defining event architecture and tracking standards that feed the broader BI strategy, working with Data Architects and Analysts
- Content infrastructure strategy in Sanity — designing content models, reusable blocks, and ingestion pipelines that enable a “Create Once, Publish Everywhere” approach across the organisation
- AI strategy for the website — evaluating and championing where AI-driven personalisation, dynamic content, conversational interfaces, and intelligent search can measurably improve the visitor experience or conversion rate
- External partner management — briefing agencies and contractors, reviewing output quality, and making strategic build-vs-buy decisions
- Strategic influence — shaping how senior leadership and external stakeholders think about web as a growth lever, bringing data-backed recommendations, and influencing decisions well beyond your immediate scope
Where you’ll roll up your sleeves…
You’re not above the code — you’re selective about when you’re in it. You’ll get hands-on when the work is high-stakes, architecturally significant, or when you need to set the standard that others will follow. In practice, that looks like:
- Writing and reviewing TypeScript, Astro.js components, and Sanity integrations when the work is foundational or sets a pattern for others
- Managing deployments through GitHub, owning code quality for critical paths, and defining the engineering practices and documentation that keep the site resilient
- Monitoring and optimising Core Web Vitals and mobile performance — diagnosing and resolving issues that require deep technical expertise
- Implementing AI-driven features where you need to evaluate feasibility, set the approach, or prove the concept before handing off
- Building the first version of content models, ingestion pipelines, or integration patterns that engineers across departments will extend
How you’ll raise the bar…
- Mentoring and coaching colleagues at all levels on web best practices, modern development approaches, and AI tooling — acting as a role model across the organisation and potentially the broader industry
- Sharing knowledge proactively through documentation, internal sessions, and external contributions
- Collaborating as a credible technical peer with product and platform engineering teams across departments — not just marketing colleagues
This position is for you if you have…
- 12+ years of professional web development experience, with at least 5 years in B2B SaaS at a senior or principal level
- Deep, hands-on expertise with Astro.js and Sanity; candidates from a Next.js or similar TypeScript-first framework background will be considered provided they can demonstrate Sanity depth and a clear path to ramping up on Astro
- A proven track record of leading major website projects with significant strategic and organisational implications — not just building, but deciding what gets built and being accountable for the outcome
- Experience designing experimentation and personalisation infrastructure — A/B testing frameworks, dynamic content delivery, and the architectural patterns that enable growth teams to move fast at scale
- Strong understanding of technical SEO at a systems level — architecture, rendering strategies, structured data, and crawlability — approached as an engineering discipline that creates compounding gains
- Strong experience with headless CMS architecture — ideally Sanity, but Contentful or equivalent is relevant. Comfortable designing content models, reusable modular blocks, and COPE content pipelines
- Deep experience with the web analytics and tracking layer — event architecture, GTM, and data collection implementation
- Experience integrating with marketing automation and analytics platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo, Segment, Google Analytics/GTM)
- Significant experience working within and actively improving structured engineering workflows — version control, branching strategies, PR review processes, deployment pipelines, and incident management
- Proven ability to collaborate as a credible technical peer with product and platform engineering teams across departments
- Practical, daily use of AI development tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude, etc.) and experience implementing AI-driven site features with measurable outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and external stakeholders through technical expertise and strategic thinking
- A track record of developing new approaches, methodologies, or standards that have been adopted across an organisation or recognised within the industry

To be clear about what this role is and isn’t…
This is a strategic technical leadership role that happens to require deep engineering capability — not an engineering role with some strategy attached. You’ll be assessed on the decisions you make, the standards you set, and the outcomes you drive — not on lines of code shipped.
- You won’t be responsible for product/application development — this is a marketing-focused role
- You won’t be writing content or designing creative — you’ll work with content and design teammates to bring their work to life on the web
- You won’t be doing basic maintenance tickets daily — but if something is broken, you don’t leave it unfixed
- You won’t own data analysis, reporting, or conversion and growth strategy — you’ll be the authoritative technical voice responsible for technical execution and strategic technical leadership

For base compensation, we set standard ranges for all roles based on function and level benchmarked against similar stage growth companies and internal comparables. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience/expertise and may vary from the amounts listed below.

As a senior member of the Design team, you’ll act as a multiplier—mentoring others, guiding technical and design decisions, and strengthening the connection between user needs, business goals, and engineering realities.

What You’ll Do
- Create high-fidelity, coded prototypes and interaction models that bring complex, AI-powered workflows to life and clearly communicate product direction.
- Own high-impact initiatives from concept through production, shipping experiences that reflect strong design thinking, technical rigor, and a deep understanding of customer workflows.
- Lead technical design discussions, make architectural decisions, and guide cross-team implementation efforts.
- Advance AlphaSense’s design system as a core piece of product infrastructure—defining scalable patterns, enabling consistency, and accelerating teams building across AI-native experiences.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to research and evaluate user requirements, translate them into effective designs, and ensure that the final product meets both user and business needs.
- Collaborate with engineering teams during development, advocating for design quality and user experience by championing design fidelity and attention to detail throughout the development lifecycle.
- Act as a senior leader within the Design team, mentoring designers and engineers, raising the bar for craft, and contributing to a strong, collaborative design culture.
- Serve as connective tissue across design, product, and engineering—helping teams navigate tradeoffs between technical constraints, business goals, and user experience to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Who You Are
- 12+ years of experience in product design, design/UX/front-end engineering, design systems, or a related discipline.
- A bachelor’s degree or higher. A degree in design, computer science, information sciences, psychology, or human-computer interaction is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with modern front-end technologies (e.g., HTML/CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, React) and evolving design systems.
- Experience building AI and agentic experiences, and you are already leveraging AI to speed up and augment your end-to-end design and development process.
- Expertise with modern AI technologies and ability to apply them to design problems (e.g., MCP, Claude Code, Codex, Skills).
- Experience shipping production-ready experiences and influencing technical and design choices across teams.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, end-to-end customer workflows, and the ability to turn new users into habitual users.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in project leadership, mentorship, and providing constructive feedback to foster professional growth.

About the Role:
We’re looking for a Principal Software Engineer to help define and build shared, API-first product platforms at AlphaSense that power multiple product surfaces, integrations, and agentic workflows.
In this role, you’ll focus on building platforms as products: well-designed APIs, clear contracts, strong reliability guarantees, and a roadmap driven by real product needs. These platforms are consumed by internal product teams, external integrations, including AI agents.
This role sits at the intersection of hands-on engineering and cross-product technical leadership. You’ll stay close to the code while shaping how product platforms are designed, evolved, and adopted across the company. You’ll also work across multiple teams and domains, helping to align long-term technical direction while still owning end-to-end systems. This is not a people-management role, nor is it a purely advisory architecture role. We’re explicitly looking for a Principal who enjoys building, prototyping, iterating, and solving complex problems in production.
What You’ll Do:
- Act as a technical owner and force multiplier for API-first architecture across the company
- Design, build, and evolve high-scale APIs used by internal teams, external customers, and intelligent agents
- Lead the development of agentic workflows, including orchestration, state management, tooling, and integration patterns
- Drive API standards, design principles, and best practices through hands-on work and technical reviews
- Tackle complex cross-team problems where requirements are ambiguous, and constraints are real
- Partner with Product, Platform, and SRE teams to ensure APIs are reliable, observable, secure, and scalable
- Identify and reduce systemic technical risks while enabling teams to move faster
- Mentor senior engineers and raise the technical bar through example, not hierarchy
Who you are:
- Extensive experience as a senior staff/principal-level software engineer working on applications and backend systems
- Experience building product platforms or shared services consumed by multiple product teams
- Proven track record of designing, building, and operating APIs at scale
- Strong hands-on experience with RESTful APIs
- Some experience with GraphQL (design, usage, or operating in production)
- Deep understanding of system design, performance, reliability, and evolution over time
- Strong bias toward hands-on contribution and ownership of real systems
- Ability to influence technical direction across teams through credibility and execution
Nice to have:
- Experience building or enabling agentic or AI-driven workflows

The Role
We are looking for a Technical Lead, Cloud to own the technical execution of our new cloud product. This is a small, high-autonomy team with minimal hierarchy. You are the person who translates vision into architecture, infrastructure and shipped product. Key Responsibilities
Technical Architecture & Decision-Making
- Own the end-to-end technical architecture for a new cloud product built from the ground up
- Make the critical build, buy and partner decisions across every layer of the stack, aligning trade-offs with VP Strategy for bets that carry strategic or financial weight
- Design for the future from day one: the architecture must support a bold long-term vision that you are expected to shape and contribute to
Execution & Delivery
- Build a high-performance, no-ego team of exceptional engineers and product builders
- Lead the engineering team (backend, frontend, design, architecture) with a relentless bias for shipping while contributing code yourself
- Own the roadmap and delivery milestones
- Operate with disciplined scoping and ruthless prioritisation: launch with what matters, proxy what can wait, and never let perfection block progress
- Work with existing Aiven teams to ensure no misalignment emerges over shared architecture
Infrastructure & Operations
- Build abstraction layers that deliver a first-class cloud experience to developers and agents, regardless of the underlying infrastructure
- Ensure the platform meets rigorous security, compliance and certification requirements from day one
- Plan for infrastructure evolution as the product scales
Cross-functional Partnership
- Partner with go-to-market, policy and design leads to ensure the product narrative is technically credible and market-ready
- Engage directly with early design-partner customers to validate requirements and iterate on the MVP
What We're Looking For:
You are a principal-level engineer with the ability to operate in an early product environment like a founder. You have built and shipped complex infrastructure products like cloud platforms, managed database services or developer tooling. You know what it takes to go from a blank canvas to paying customers in a short timeline.
You have deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure and open-source technologies. You have excellent taste and conviction on how modern cloud infrastructure should be built, and the technical seniority to turn that into simple narratives. Experience with bare metal orchestration, storage systems or European infrastructure providers is a strong plus.
You thrive in ambiguity and move fast without waiting for permission. You are a high-energy individual with proven evidence of high-agency problem solving.
