Job Title: Staff Software Engineer (AI)

As a Staff Software Engineer, you’ll be a key technical leader responsible for shaping the design and development of scalable, reliable, and innovative AI/GenAI solutions. You’ll lead high-priority projects, set technical directions for teams, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. You’ll operate with a high degree of technical expertise, strategic thinking, effective collaboration across diverse teams, while mentoring and elevating others to meet a very high technical bar.

You’ll be a strategic technical leader to define and drive the technical vision and roadmap for Conga’s AI/GenAI systems, aligning with company objectives and future growth. You’ll have the opportunity to provide architectural leadership for complex, large-scale AI systems, and act as a thought leader in AI technologies, influencing cross-functional technical decisions and long-term strategies. You’ll have ownership of high-impact projects, shaping the future of Conga’s products while mentoring engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
Here’s what we’re looking for…
Related experience. You have 10+ years of professional software development experience, including 5+ years in AI/ML or GenAI. You have a proven track record of designing and deploying scalable, production-grade AI solutions. You’ve led complex technical initiatives that required influencing cross-functional teams while mentoring teammates, navigating change, and creating space for collaboration and growth.
Technical expertise. You have:
- Deep expertise in Python and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, FastAPI, LangChain, LangGraph, and KubeFlow.
- Advanced knowledge of AI/ML algorithms, generative models, and LLMs.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) and modern DevOps practices.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and database systems (SQL/NoSQL).
Analytical thinker and creative problem solver. You utilize your expertise to navigate ambiguity and deliver impactful solutions. You’re skilled in identifying creative solutions to unique customer requirements, ensuring our customer issues are resolved in a manner that meets or exceeds their expectations without increasing their costs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. You’re skilled at reading and adapting to different communication styles. You communicate priorities, trade-offs, and goals clearly, that engages and inspires both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Education. You’ve completed your Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Maybe you’ve even gone on to obtain your Ph.D.

Additional expertise. You’ve had the opportunity to lead the development of generative AI solutions, leveraging advanced techniques such as multi-modal models, reinforcement learning, and responsible AI principles. You’ve gained advanced knowledge of GCP technologies such as VertexAI, BigQuery, GKE, and DataFlow. You also have familiarity with agile methodologies and working in a DevOps model.
Thought Leadership. You’re passionate about the AI/ML space. You’re a thought leader for the AI/ML community, contributing ideas through publications, open-source projects, and/or speaking engagements.

Listed below is the U.S. base salary range for this full-time position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education, or training. The posted salary ranges are for the expectations outlined in the job description. Join a high-impact engineering team at AEVEX Aerospace working at the intersection of robotics, computer vision, and resilient navigation. As a summer intern, you’ll support real-world projects focused on enabling autonomous systems to navigate confidently in environments where GPS is degraded or denied. This internship offers hands-on experience across the full development cycle—from sensor data collection and algorithm prototyping to hardware integration and live flight testing.
We are seeking a highly motivated engineering student to join our team for the summer. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research and development in robotics, autonomous navigation, and sensor fusion. You will contribute to real-world projects, applying your skills in algorithm design, machine learning, and embedded systems to enhance autonomy in challenging conditions.
Essential Functions
- Assist in the development and testing of software for sensor data acquisition and multi-sensor fusion (e.g., IMUs, cameras, GNSS, LiDAR)
- Support integration of novel navigation hardware and software onto AEVEX platforms, including embedded systems and edge devices
- Participate in test and evaluation campaigns, including live flight tests at AEVEX test facilities
- Conduct data reduction and analysis during and after flight testing to validate system performance
- Prototype and validate computer vision or deep learning-based techniques for localization, mapping, and estimation
- Contribute to simulations and software testing using environments like ROS, Gazebo, or CARLA
- Collaborate with engineers in autonomy, perception, and embedded systems across defense and aerospace applications
- Perform other duties as required.

Position Description
ENSCO, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Machine Learning Engineer with direct experience and applications with using Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) models, frameworks, architectures, pipelines, and advanced data analytics, to address difficult problem sets. Work closely with other senior scientist to understand problem sets, physical data feature sets and parameters. The successful candidate must have demonstrated understanding of signal processing, data fusion, feature extraction, and be able to apply it towards ML and DL solutions. Assess algorithm performance of features by building datasets and designing and executing well-controlled experiments.
ENSCO's Mission Systems Group (MSG) provides innovative customized products and services vital to national safety and security. A primary focus area is the development of advanced algorithm development and integration for multipurpose data sets.
Qualifications Required:
• Bachelors degree in Machine Learning, Data Science, Mathematics, or equivalent in a related discipline. Direct relevant military experience will also be considered.
• Minimum of 5 years related industry experience in machine learning, data science, and analytics.
• Proven track record of successful data science and algorithm implementation.
• Provide mentorship to junior ML engineers.
• A self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience navigating and programming within the Linux environment.
• Experience working with structured and unstructured databases.
• Advanced proficiency with data science languages (e.g. Python, Matlab,)
• Demonstrated experience with Deep Learning frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow/Keras, scikit-learn, MXNet).
• Experience working with large data sets and ability to extract relevant information from data sets.
• An Active Secret clearance is required for this position, for which you must be a U.S. Citizen
Qualifications Desired:
• Masters or PhD degree in Machine Learning, Data Science, or Mathematics, or equivalent.
• Experience with ML/DL algorithms extracting signal from noise.
• Past experience being able to develop solutions using disparate data sets through ML techniques.
• DevOps experience involving CI/CD pipelines to build and deploy.
• Experience working with container orchestration technologies (e.g. Docker/Kubernetes).
